How do I know if cards on eBay are fakes?

So I found an eBay ad of some guy selling lots of 50 holos for 2$, in description it says if you order 20 lots you get a free reverse holo, 2 extra holos and a free X card, but I was wondering if they might be fake due to the low prices?

You have to study the pictures on the lot carefully to see what the cards look like.

Though chances are most of those "holos" are reverse holo cards anyway if they're already that low priced.

Ask the buyer to confer in writing that they are genuin (or send a message asking it), that way if ther are you can complane and as you have t in writing that they are supost to be if they give you any trubbe ebay sort it out quite wel (as long as its a safty asured one).

Best ways for checking authentisty,
- Colour, espesahly the backs
- Energy, the simble must be dead centre and the right size
- border being equal (some realy cards are cut impropaly so its not 100%)
the last one depends on age but smell, the newer cards ink had a poticual smell to it, beleve it or not but it works.

That energy tip is true about most older cards, though on a couple HGSS promos they screwed up the energy symbols, unfortunately.

There really badly done on many fakes. Im never quite sure wether or not the sellers know and if so why they don't just come out with it, its not like there are many if any people out there collecting them. if there are fake cards tey or to be more like

Those ones are obvious fakes... only someone who's NEVER seen Pokemon cards would think those are real.
