How do I make my own board?

*sighs*

PC uses vBulletin. It's very spendy, so don't bother buying it unless you know what you're doing.

The software we use is vBulletin, and it does cost. There's also hosting, and others can help with that.
 
If you're new to forum software, try www.proboards.com. It's not really good, (it stinks) but it's good for beginners. And yes, it's free.
 
no offense, but all of free-hosted ones these suck. The best one is vBulletin. I also use it and love every second of it ^^.
 
Imakuni: No, they don't. They're different. Personally, I think some of the free ones are superior to vB. And they're not necessarily "free-hosted". You can host free software on paid hosting. I'd say if you want a free board that looks and works a bit like vB try out myBB.
 
Just because things are free doesn't mean they suck. Of course vB is one of the best, but it's kinda extremely expensive, and some free ones can do things that vB can as well. Since Twilight is starting out, it's probably best for her to use a free forum, to get the hang of how things work and everything, before buying vB and not having a clue on what to do or stuffing it up.
 
I think he meant the freely-hosted ones, like invisionfree, which are near to impossible to personalize.

How exactly "near impossible to personalize"? Clic!Dev, as far as I know, gives you access to the whole admin panel exactly as you would if you had the forum on your own server.

I use proboards because vbullitan cost 85$.but if you have the money vbullitan is the way to go.

If you want something hosted like that, why not try something like www.forumer.com or www.clicdev.com ?
 
Or try one of the many others listed in the General Webmasters' Resources thread.

If you are a beginner you should start off at www.invisionfree.com for now then you can progress
 
Search for freely hosted SMF (simple machines) or YaBBSE (Yet Another Bulletin Board Splinter Edition) as they are THE BEST.
 
CC recommends PHPBB or SMF. Anyway Radical Edward this is an old thread[Not 1 month though], Dont know why you revived it.
