Hey there everyone, I've got a question I'd like to ask.

So I found this amazing-looking tileset on the web, and I would like to use it for an RPG Maker XP Pokemon game I'm testing with. The only problem is that the tileset uses 16x16 tiles instead of 32x32. They originated from an RPG Maker XP game as well, but the game is abandoned and now the tiles are free to use. So I was wondering how the original creator could have fitted them into his game or how to possible resize them without quality loss.

    Thanks in advance!

Note: I was not sure if I should post it here or in the Pokémon Essentials section, but I thought posting it here was the safest.

You want the resizing option "Nearest Neighbour" in your graphics-editing program of choice. Or just resize it in Paint, which is free with Windows, although it doesn't handle transparency (although when you import it into RMXP, you can choose a colour to be transparent). If you weren't sure, you should resize it to 200% (i.e. double the size in each dimension).

Thanks! I've got Photoshop, hopefully that will do?

EDIT: I first tried resizing it in IrfanView, which resulted kind of blurry. Then I tried Photoshop CS6, and WOW! I absolutely love the result! Thanks so much again!

If you've got it, I wholeheartedly recommend Photoshop for all your pixel art work. Especially when you get used to it and can do stuff like this for your game's pixel art assets(yeah, the borderless edges arent quite the same as the hard outlines in sugimori's style, but one you've got that softer index painting done, you could just as easily outline it.
