    For some people it's become an addiction, but that's not what I mean by impacting your life. What I mean is, has anime ever changed your view on something and make you rethink something? Some people have a new view romance, life, etc. How has it 'impacted' you? Explain!

    All it's really done for me is make it so I can have a long conversation with a friend about the psychology of an anime. Whether what we're talking about is canon or intended to be the case or whatever, I have sat for HOURS discussing with a certain friend why a character does what and with what intentions

    I also have no problem taking a situation in an anime and learning from it in real life. As long as the situation is you know... Something that could ACTUALLY happen to someone. I've done that a couple times, to be quite honest haha.

    Also, no one can even tell I watch anime unless they bring it up, in which case I'm like /FLAUNTS ANIME INTELLIGENCE IN FACE. I need a hobby.

    It's one of the things that made me make friends with some people who in turn affected me in other ways, but that's probably the most direct influence.

    No, wait. It was also something that sort of helped me look at the world and think about there being other peoples and cultures and languages and things like that. Not that I didn't already know this, but it was one of the parts leading up to that big a-ha! moment where I thought "I could actually do something like learn the language or go there." There being Japan, but in a general sense it could be anywhere.

    Yeah, so, basically indirect impact.

    It's definitely took up a lot of my time watching it. So time wise I'd say that is the biggest impact. As far as life lessons go when they try and teach them I take it into consideration as too what they are saying, but usually around the time I start the next series their dialogue and ideals they went on about are forgotten until next time I hear them. Anime has sparked discussion with people at work and school, so there is that.

    It's made me realise things more than had actual impact;

    -If a friend is about to commit suicide punch them.
    -Japan is full of monsters, roricons and train gropers but don't worry magical lolis and overpowered teenagers will save us.
    -Most things can't be helped.
    -Sit towards the back of the classroom next to the window or forever be a side character.
    -Wooden or bamboo swords are just as sharp as metal swords, if not sharper.

    It's consumed a large part of my life and my money, and has given me a new appreciation for Japanese culture. It's also introduced me to plenty of pretty girls, both in the shows themselves and at anime conventions :) And it's given something to fall back on whenever I get tired of playing Pokemon; I can just fire up an episode of my favorite show and be entertained that way :)

    I was once well-known for nothing, but now I'm well-known at school for my anime addiction.

    Not much really, sweeties. All it did is help me understand anime related jokes, now a days. However, Hajime no Ippo made me work out a lot more when I watched it. Also when I was younger Dragon Ball Z taught me that death is a minor inconvenience.

    Well, anime just showed me the way to go about life. Some examples are that if you fight against fate, there is always a chance to overturn it (Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai), there are some tragic events in life which have to happen (Clannad/Clannad ~After Story~), if we ever live in a world without someone, our whole lives would just...fail (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya), we aren't the same to others, because we are the person we are (Tales of the Abyss), etc.
    Within such a simple animation lies many morals we may or may not live without. >.>

    And...I'm kinda a little famous within my tutor group at school due to my Japan obsession and I'm nicknamed 'Japan Girl'. Somehow, I don't think my cosplay pictures which I posted on my Facebook really helped....damn...

    It's helped me some-what. I think it's made me more smarter and adament about life and things around me. It's made me more perceptive thanks to (Naruto, Dragon Ball and Bleach, oh and FullMetal). Those are the only animes I watch, and Yugioh from time to time. Although I'm not about the whole "You need friends to live life" thing as I don't have any, I think the other apporaches I've taken has shaped me some. I'ts also got me interested in Japanese girls, teh teh teh.

    Bottom line is, anime in a sense has made more more aware of the world and what we humans have the potential to do. Seriously, I think that one day, should a calamity arrive, there might actually be some people who take Ichigo or Son Goku to heart and actually try to stop it. Anime gives people a sense to never give up and fight for what's right, so when people ask me about Anime and say how horrible it is, I than ask them...what's wrong with that?

    I'm no nerd btw. I just like Anime.

    Back in 2004/5 when I was even littler than I am now and I didn't know what 'anime' was, I remember getting early up every morning to catch Case Closed/Detective Conan on the Cartoon Network Adult Swim. I watched it because it was entertaining, as I do now. When I found out what anime was and I was like "holy crap there's more of this kind of stuff", I'd say there was a brief multi-month period where I was addicted, but I feel that now it's just receded back to a hobby. I watch it because I can enjoy it and relate to it.

    I've learned a whole bunch of things to, like language and culture. Which is fun as well.

    Anime taught me the importance of friendship and that knowledge isn't everything. It reaffirmed my belief on doing the right thing because it's right. I began to believe in people, myself, and ideals because people had turned their back on them. It made me appreciate my life and made me want to fight for it and never give up on overturning fate. It taught me that doing what's right isn't always easy and that sometimes you don't win or people will leave, but you have to fight on anyway. It has had a great impact on my life and it's hard to let go, even though my friends who watch it still look at me a bit funny for the reasons I like it. I doubt I ever will.

    Anime taught me lotsa things~

    Friendship is important.
    Love is the best things in life.
    Violence is sometimes necessary.
    Never give up; that's my ninja way.
    Cherish your memories.
    Don't go with fate; Go against fate. It's your life.

    Thing is, I learned a whole lotta life lessons from anime. I've also learned about the Japanese Culture, like the others.

    How it's changed me: Well I've become a sports freak seeing as my favourite animes are sports based ~Inazuma Eleven, Major! Big Windup.

    Apart from that it taught me:
    To never give up till the job is done
    That friendships count more than anything
    Gave me a ton more heck to sports then I already knew
    And I know a few Japanese words just from watching Anime

    and that SAKKA IS SAKKA <3

    Alot of anime that I watched when I was younger had alot of moral lessons buried within them. That really made me admire the series, and I would try to change my personality bit by bit to try and be more like the characters I really liked. xD;
    Anime(and manga) also motivated me to start drawing. Without it, I probably wouldn't have cared about drawing these days, and that's just depressing to think about.
    Because of Anime, I've been able to make friends too.
    So, yeah! Anime has been and still is a big part of my life, and impacted it in many ways.

    Oh, also. English dubbed Anime made me extremely interested in Voice Acting, too. xD;
    I've been practicing that stuff since Primary School. o3o

    Yes actually. It has opened my mind to culture and language in many ways. It has also, I feel, make me a better person...

    How so?

    Well, I was very close-minded before I watched Cowboy Bebop, which blew me away with its music, story, voice-acting, and, well, everything. I remember seeing things differently after watching that series.
