How large is your vocabulary?

Well, I would say very large, but that depends on whether or not you're supposed to use it. I don't, but I can understand some deep words though.

So-so. And I never really bother using words that end up confusing someone or making him search for its meaning just to understand what I mean. (:

Meh, mine's alright I guess. I can almost always understand what someone's saying, but I never really bother trying to make complex sentences with unusual words and stuff because I don't really see the point. If you get the point across, who cares how you say it?

My vocabulary used to be better, especially back when I still had to write essays and whatnot. I suppose it's just deteriorated over time because of thesaurus.com and my lack of writing anything substantial in years.

I mean, I still know all the words I used to use more commonly, but I've been helping my friend edit his essays lately and each time I'd underline word he'd used way too much, I'd be almost stumped on a suitable alternative. XD; I know what works and what doesn't when I check a thesaurus but off the top of my head, I draw blanks. I guess since there's no real need for me to make use of a large vocabulary, I've sort of lost it over time. :( I should read more.

My vocabulary improves each and every day, as I tend to make a mental note of each new word I come across. I'll even thank PC here for bringing a few to my attention.

I try to include some of the less common words when I can, but if I can get away with using simpler words in casual conversation, that's what I do. Though when I'm writing a fanfic or other story, I try to use some more interesting stuff where I can.

And in a few months my vocabulary will include 150+ new English Pokémon names. XD

In addition to my earlier post...

When I get into a writing mood, my vocabulary shoots up, complete with softer tone of voice and constant glasses adjustments.

Otherwise?

It's alright, though I do have to frequently explain words.

And my jokes are almost always over everyone's head.

I loved reading as a child which meant when I was young I would often have to have a dictionary nearby to determine certain definitions. Though as I've gotten older I've become able to determine for myself what a word means through context. This has made my vocabulary quite large in my own opinion and I love adding new words to it.

I actually have quite a large vocabulary, but I don't tend to actually use it. I usually try to keep it toned down when I'm talking to people just so they know exactly what I'm saying, rather than having to explain it to them (although once and a while I do use more complex words when talking to my sister just to see if she understands what I'm saying, or to confuse her :P). When writing, though, I use a lot of words that I wouldn't use in everyday conversations, just to make things more interesting.

Me wuud sayz I haz guud vocubularee. XD
I would say I have a fairly large vocabulary, I tend to use it mostly at school, though some words I use leak into the home.
