4th Gen How many of you use Walkthroughs?

for pokemon i never use walkthroughs, i love playing and discovering by myself <3

I would not live without Bulbagarden. If it wasn't for that site, I could have never found all those Pokemons and items. Oh, and I mainly use it to find out where the next destination is. Even if a UPC already told me in the game, I would probably forget it later. Thus, that's where Bulbagarden comes in!

I would only use walkthroughs for Pokemon games. That, and because I only play Pokemon games.

I've used Bulbapedia tons of times but only for FAQs and all those stuff.

I want to make sure I do everything right, so I bought the guide at GameStop the day it came out. I also check other online sources such as Bulbapedia and Serebii.

I find Pokemon games to be really straight forward so I never need to use a walkthrough. I just use Bulbapedia every once and while to check the moves or location of certain Pokemon.

I only ever used a nintendo walkthrough when G/S/C came out, I couldn't get through ice cave to save my life back then.

I normally buy a guide when I get a game. I love reading them (repeatedly), for some reason, although I don't actually refer to them that much for gameplay help. I mainly look at them to make sure I've gotten all of the Pokemon in an area before moving on or to make sure that I don't accidently miss items buried in corners of caves.

Walkthrough? For Pokemon? That's pretty pathetic; Pokemon's probably the easiest game next to simulators and Cooking Mama.

No need for a walkthrough lol the game pretty much tells you where to go. No mysteries to it.

I use Serebii, however, to see where a Pokemon can be caught the fastest and at the lowest level. for the storyline, though, and other things like "Where's this HM?" or "What type is this Gym Leader?", no need. It's shoved in your face pretty much.

i would occasionally watch GCPM11's walkthroughs before the game came out cuz they were fun but i havent used a walkthrough on a pokemon game since diamond

I own the guidebook, but usually I just explore. If I'm stuck in a particular area, I look for video walkthroughs on youtube

I was considering buying the guide but for some odd reason I talked myself out of it. So I am figuring things out on my own right now. It is kind of hard but the challenge it nice.

Yeah, I use them. I've pre-ordered it along with the game for me to collect when it comes out.
I use them as I always get stuck on things. Also to find out where to get the Pokemon to complete the Pokedex and that sort of thing.

Right now I'm using a Youtube-Walktrough for Soulsilver.. but I don't follow it exactly, I just sometimes refer to it when I'm stuck somewhere.. @.@ xD
I also like the official Guides (and i'm planning to buy one for either hg/ss).. because i simply prefer to look into a book rather than always using my laptop.. ^^ and when i'm out and i'm bored (which happens most of the time xD) it's fun to play pokemon and to have your guide with you :D

I check GameFAQs, Serebii and Bulbapedia when I need to (for locations, moves and the occasional cave map), but I prefer not to use a walkthrough.

I usally just go through the game, but eventually buy the strategy guide anyways so i can find items, and its always a handy thing to have

P.S Is the Guide Book worth the 20$? I need to know really soon cuz i gotta go to gamestop today, and if its not pumped full of Info i don't wanna waste my money.

I just got the one for Hg/Ss yesterday. I've never used one before and really don't plan to use this one. I just like to read it/ look at the pictures (and I guess I can use it if I get stuck or need to know where something is).

I'll admit that I got confused as to where to go once after my 7th badge, but no, I don't need/use a guide.

Well normally pokemon games aren't too bad, but they do have their challenges. I normally use the guides and stuff just for pokemon locations and EV training, but there have been those mazes and caves that get the better of me. So far in HG/SS I've only used a guide for the nature of my starter, other than that nothing really.
