How many years have you been playing Pokémon?

For about 10-11 years, just like you. I was introduced by my cousin when I was a youngin' and it get stuck to me :o
 
I've been playing since I was six years old. I was a huge fan, but I paid very little attention to the gameplay itself back then. I was mainly interested in the scary monsters that lived in the old Blue and Yellow versions and I couldn't go two weeks without starting a new game (with barely getting anything done in the last playthrough). However, as I grew up and started to grow an attention span my interest in the series grew to getting as far as I could in the games, and eventually I became the trainer I am today: a happy-go-lucky guy who always forms a bond with his Pokemon that consists of not only battling with others, but doing whatever I can to make them happy.
 
Since I was 5. Got Fire Red for my birthday, I still remember the joyous occasion.
 
Since I was 3 so its 10 years. Playing since 2001. Started on Red.
 
I'm currently 19 years old right now, if I did my math correctly:

19 years - 5 years = 14 years

So roughly, I've been playing pokemon ever since I learned how to push buttons and read and play gadgets. Roughly around 14 years :)

EDIT - But i'll be going 20 this June 16 so its been 15 years :)
 
Since christmas 99' oh so long ago, I was 10 :\ Probably wont give up anytime soon
 
I started with Base Set. :) My first card was a 1st edition Vulpix.
 
I started my journey with Pokemon Silver in 2000.
That already make 11.5 years that I play pokemon (That long! I'm surprising myself)
I'm not about to stop soon, even when I will be an adult in few months!
 
I started with Red & Blue.
I got them for Christmas when I was six.
...1998 was a long time ago...
So yeah, around 12.5 years. :3
 
Since 2004, I started to play Pokémon Red with BGB emulator in cybercafes, and to secure my progress, I sent the .sav archive to myself by E-mail, that was before I got my laptop in 2008 when finally I could play the rest of the Pokémon games in my house to date.
