How Much Are We Going To Do In Alola?

Just looking at the Region itself (won't be taking in the account of a possible second region or storyline for post game or otherwise) there's a ton of it to explore.

I'm going to dissect this region in parts where I think the gameplay or post game could take place w/ possible features that contribute to the whole gameplay
So if you forgot how the region looks like here it is + what parts I'm going to cover:
Spoiler:

1, 8, & 9
Spoiler:

This could be a island that you access post-game, or one of those side islands that you go to to capture a legendary, especially in 8, looks like a Battle Mansion or Battle Frontier of some kind. For 9, it's kinda hidden so it could possibly be one a mirage spot, giving the possible returns to mirages spots (especially if we use service Pokemon like we use mega Latios/Latias) for there's some points for the post game

2)
Spoiler:

I believe this is going to be the place where the Legendary Mascot takes place, if you look you'll see an altar that looks promising where the Legendary is going to be summoned. + The area around it is a winding canyon that looks possibly troublesome to get through so

3, 5, & 7
Spoiler:

I believe these are locations/points in the game where you'll have encounters with the evil team (if there is an evil team in the game), you have the standard volcano & power plant where evil teams usually meet you up at

4) (it's just the ocean)
Considering how huge the body of water we get, there's probably a city of Altantis down there or something like the Abyssal Ruins that may or may not be accessed post game

6)
Spoiler:

Here's the standard mountain of the game where it supposed to take up a good chunk of time clearing it so thats that.

All at of these points, i think there's a good amount of possible areas to explore & contribute to the story, making Alola seem like it could quite take awhile to beat the game or explore it compared to XY & ORAS
But, it also depends how many battles and level gaps GF included so we'll just have to wait & see for the most part

Eh, I'd say the chances of returning to Kalos right now are 50/50. There's been no indication to support this theory but then there's no reason why it can't happen. It's fun to speculate about and I'd definitely be down for another set of games with two regions, however, there just isn't enough information to go off to determine an answer.

It does seem like this journey will feel particularly longer than previous due to the fact that we have four moderately sized islands to explore. I guess it depends on how much time is spent on each island, but I would assume travelling from island to island would take longer than just going through a linear Region like in past games. It appears as though each island has a fair amount of areas to explore meaning all four should be chock-full of content to discover.

Sorry for double posting, but this just occurred to me after making this thread.

It has been stated before that the islands are crudely drawn for the sake of the world map, so that begs the question... Do you think there any additional places that Game Freak could be hiding from us for the sake of the game? And what I mean by that is locations you wouldn't be able to clearly see on the surface?

I'm surprised this just occurred to me while looking at the map now XD.

Imagine if in the artificial island they have the power of virtual reality technology, and by going there you can explore a virtual reality version of some other region. Ho ho ho ho ho...

But uh, that's just a silly guess. But I do hope that artificial island holds something significant for the player to do, because as of now there doesn't really seem to be any post-game areas, since the four main islands have been discussed in official materials as being part of the "main adventure."
