How much reputation do you have?

I've always wondered this: what if someone gives you rep because you posted something funny or cracked a good joke? Is that considered actual reputation or not?

It could be, if they really like the joke or something it'd be normal rep....i think. But I'm sure it should have more to do with making a post with meaning .

Most of the people on this sight aren't good enough for making reputation. The only people I know are mods and people of higher classification. I give rep to people that have posted something funny, something of meaning, and things such as that. If something really makes me laugh out loud, I consider that a good reputation point adder. Or, if someone makes really good sprites and such, I consider that to be one, too. Only if the sprite makes me gape in awe though, which hasn't happened yet...
I give bad rep for people who double post, curse, or things of the same boat. If they have their sig too big (snicker, it rhymes!) then I PM them.
There...that's all I have to say of rep-giving.

Well, I actually only have... er, 502 points. o_o; And my last 3 are actually from Dakota, because he took pity on me, lol. *bows to his feet* Funny thing is that I've been here over a year, yet I see so many people that haven't even been here a week with more points than me. Am I that bad?! XD

But one good thing I can say is that atleast I haven't recieved any bad rep yet!

Incentive would be the word, but I do believe that is not how rep is supposed to be used. It was set up as a system of rewarding other members for good post, or creations(such as fic,sprite,etc) but thats changed. People just want it now for the thrill of having a little green block by their name.

Thats what everyone has been saying from the start. Rep is only to show what some people think of you, you get rep from the way you act. So in theroy act good, get good rep. But thats changing to much for favoritism....but hope my little plan works anyways,lol.
