Now, I know that people use the Day Care A LOT if they are a breeder / competitive battler, though I'm talking about the purpose of leveling up your Pokemon whilst on your journey, how often do you use it in that aspect?

I rarely use it, due to the fact that it can be risky when your Pokemon forgets a good move for a trash one (swaps out flamethrower for screech or something) and it will not evolve whilst in the day care. Though, it's a way of leveling up your Pokemon without grinding, and I guess it would be useful when you are having a difficult time training up for example a Beldum, who doesn't learn any good moves early levels anyway.

I remember I used it once in Pokemon Silver because for whatever reason I picked Chikorita, and it simply didn't do enough damage to make grinding easy. So, I kept it in the day care and almost forgot about it. Then, towards the end of the first region, I retrieved it, evolved it and was delighted to find out it had become a monster.

How often do you use the Day Care to level up Pokemon? Put your thoughts down below!

Almost never. I actually kinda like to grind my Pokemon. It gets me more attached to them when I have to work towards leveling them up, and I get bored with the game if I don't feel attached to my Pokemon lol

I rarely ever use the Daycare to level up. I mostly use it for breeding and nothing else. I've only used it a couple of times just for leveling up, but the other times I have used it was for breeding.

I never use the daycare for leveling up. It's so easy to gain levels these days that I rarely see the point, and like others said, I don't like the risk of messing up my moveset (though at least that can be fixed with heart scales and the move relearner). I tried out the daycare for that purpose in Red at some point, but even over the course of most of a journey, the Pokemon I left there didn't gain that many levels, so it didn't seem too useful. And now, I'm breeding something most of the time, so I don't have a spare daycare spot for leveling anyway (though I often leave a Ditto in just to save myself time, but those are all at level 100 by now).

The most levels I've gained in the daycare is 74, I believe (1 to 75 while breeding for a shiny Squirtle). I haven't bothered to train that Squirtle since then or relearn the relevant egg moves, though.

I never do for leveling up. It's so slow compared to standard battling and I just don't see the purpose. I only ever use the daycare for breeding nowadays.

I see little point either. It would take so long! Once I've EV trained I just mindlessly grind while watching Netflix or something.

I've never used it for leveling up that I remember, especially since moves can be different when you get the Pokemon back.

I feel like it's faster just to battle, and more fun than just walking or biking around to level up.

i never did this past gsc. i don't want the hassle of having it learning new moves i don't want and i don't want to pay for it lol

:x Daycare way too slow when your pokemon is not less than level 20 anymore, Battling is yet efficent due to EXP share
