How to edit the pause menu's appearance?

Hello, i recently started working with Essentials v13, and i know nothing about RGSS, i however do know the basics of essentials, i am trying to customize my PokemonPauseMenu and so far i have worked out how to put up a background but i am wondering how i can change the location of the actual menu and how i can make them show brief information when hovered over, this gives a very good example of what i am trying to make : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14046770/Screenshots/Menu.png

Also how to get the background to be semi-transparent like the one in the picture?
