    How to evolve Pokémon that need to be traded to someone without actually trading it.

    I've seen a lot of threads being wasted into tradebacks, for evolving certain Pokémon (Machoke to Machamp, Electabuzz w/Electrizer into Electivire...), so for those who need to trade, you don't need to make a thread or ask someone's help. The GTS can be used for this.

    For those who don't know how to do this, here are the steps:

    1) Enter the GTS, and Deposit the Pokémon you want to evolve via trade (if it needs an item, give it the item as well). I recommend you ask for an Impossible Pokémon (I always ask for a lv.9 or lower Lugia).

    2) Search for ANY Pokémon, and when you find one, you have to do a FULL trade. (Get their Pokémon and you get theirs).

    3) After you have received that Pokémon, go back to the 3-option screen, and take back your Pokémon.


    If you followed these steps correctly, when you get your Pokémon back, it'll now evolve as if you would've made a tradeback. Enjoy and Be Happy!

    Yeah, somebody really needs to sticky a thread like this. Not necessarily THIS one, but it would cut a lot of clutter around this place. Hopefully.
     
    There are more and better ways than than doing that.

    Probably because one could make a sticky with lots of information like this, instead of just one piece of information like this thread has.

    BTW, it's a good idea, but I've heard of it before.
     
    couldnt you just trade for a pokemon that you want to evolve? ie. trade for a kadabra then it will be alakazam when u get it?
     
    you could but this is a safer opition barring anyone who hacks 9 or lower lugias(just using his example) I use this to evolve my trade pokes because I don't trust anyone
     
    I dont think a single article will make it as a stickie, bnut PM a mod, they may add something helpful like this to the FAQ :)
     
    I second a FAQ. I dont want write it because I am a nub to D/P. I just got them yesterday but, I allready knew this.

    What we need in a FAQ :
    Trade Evovle Trick
    Cloneing Glitch
    Chaining Guide

    If you haven't checked, the FAQ has a detailed chaining guide, and contains the cloning glitch, too.
