How to Keep Downloading..

...after switching user profiles? I'm running on a Mac trying to download a very big file from LimeWire and others like to use the computer as well as me, and I know I won't be the only person to use this computer tonight.

So my question is: is it possible to keep downloading a file after switching user profiles? I really want to get this download done.

I can't see why, everything should still be running in the background. Give it a try?

I don't know if it's possible on a mac, but you just to do start > something > switch user, or whatever weird thing a Mac has. But I'm not sure if it "pauses" all your activity when you switch to another account.


Sooo much easier to do on Windows -__-

yeah just enable the fast user switching option.
System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Options -> check "Show Fast User Switching Menu as"

That will put your username up in the menubar and then when you switch users accounts via that pane all of your programs should continue running. (or at least pause until the other person switches back to your account)

Yes, it is possible, your download file must have resume capability. Even if you switch off your computer directly and can resume your download file.
