Whenever I create a new map, it always shows up in Pallet Town/Littleroot Town. Why am I not allowed to create a completely NEW AREA?

Is there any way to do that?

If you're talking about new map names, then there is no easy way to add new ones, as doing so would require the overhauling of a huge amount of different systems and routines, as the current system is hardcoded for use in the world map, Pokédex, map loading, and so much more. Essentially, the best thing to do is to overwrite the unused map names such as Sevii Isle 8.

I don't think Pikachu was looking for that, but I have been :/ I found this thread: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/212492

Apparently Jambo found the solution, but a lot of it goes over my head, and I haven't even found a program for ASM coding (I'm on a Mac). I see that Zilvereyes started something that was extremely detailed and helpful for those of us who don't know what we're doing, but it the end is unfortunately "delayed"...in 2012 :(

Is there a new tutorial on expanding the number of map names somewhere? I don't mind if it is tedious; I just want more than 108 map names because I'm trying to create multiple regions :/
