    I used to be a Redditor, so I'm familiar with how they do it. Here, I"m not sure. So for clarification, I'll post Reddit's formatting technique:

    [PokeCommunity.com] How to write something in the place of URLs?

    Because I just posted this image without it appearing as a URL, I know most of what I need to know for this.

    I want to change a URL to say "X" and have it directly lead to the linked page rather than just post the naked URL. Thanks for your time, I've been here awhile and it's important that I understand how to do this!

    What version of the post editor are you using? You can check and/or change this on the "Edit Options" page of your User CP. Which editor you use is critical to which steps you take. In the WYSIWYG and Standard editors, you highlight the text you want to turn into a link, click the URL button, and paste the URL into that pop-up window, and click "Ok". That should turn the highlighted text into a URL, like so: Best Pokemon Forum Ever!

    If you're using the Standard Editor or the Basic Editor, the following is also an option:

    [URL="https://www.pokecommunity.com/index.php"]Best Pokemon Forum Ever![/URL]

    That gets you this: Best Pokemon Forum Ever!

    Basically, the text inside the [url][/url] tags becomes your text that is colored like a link. The link goes into the quotation marks in the [url=" "] leading tag.

    This clarify things any?
