How Will These Games Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Pokemon?

That was a long time ago. There are three years between Red/Blue and Gold/Silver, and two years between Black/White and Black/White 2. Estimating similar gaps between games, its probably been over 10 years. He's also part of the Pokemon World Tournament, so I think he's gotten over it.

First of all, Ash is not a canon character in the games. Red is a completely different character from Ash.
Not entirely implausible. First of all, a reference is made to Alain in the games. Second, I never mentioned Red. He is a default character. Third, Nice sig./B]
An Eevee pre-evolution would be completely pointless. But the "Ash" Greninja and Dark Mewtwo are very likely, considering they are in actual Pokemon games. Another Pikachu evolution might be interesting.

But pre-evolutions for Pikachu and Jigglypuff? Sure. And how about a Rhydon split evolution guys?

I'm almost sure Game Freak will include a few Generation 1 references to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Pokemon, even though they've done it a lot this year already (*cough* Pokemon GO intro *cough* Red & Blue on 3DS *cough* Pokemon Base Set TCG *cough*) I'd also love to see them bring the "dual regions" feature again! I'm sure the game will be a prominent step forward this year, since they skipped last year so possibly they will have more time to design the game.

X/Y had a lot of 1st Gen shoutouts, like Kanto starters being obtainable and the sleeping Snorlax, but what I hope to see for S/M is shoutouts to not just Kanto, but all the other previous regions. Dual regions is something I feel like would stay exclusive to Johto games though.

What I want most of all is Cynthia!

Waifu crush aside...Cynthia is the best champion, studies Pokemon mythology, and she's fabulous. I'm actually curious how she's changed her team in response to Fairy types.

I don't think Sun and Moon will give any more nods to older games than the older games did. They don't feel like a 20th anniversary game, but a game that happens to be releasing the same year as the 20th anniversary so my expectations are severely low. The game will most likely follow our very basic format and not stray from that.
