I've crept around these forums for years, but I was never really active until recently. I figured why not make an account and have some fun while also looking at references, tutorials, etc. It seems like an awesome group of people, so I'm excited to start getting to know you all across the boards ^_^

A little about me would be I'm a 25 year old guy, I go by either Mylotical or J, have been a Pokemon fan for about 20 years, and I am trying to get back into Pokemon art (spriting mainly) and Fan Games. I've been a big fan of ROM hacks for years, but I have a really cool idea brewing in my head that I'd love to see come to life; I know these forums are a great starting point.

Thanks for the welcome, Alex! Happy to be here finally.

& Gen three for sure. I think its because I haven't branched outside of it much, but Gen three were the first games I ever played and they've held a close spot in my heart, so naturally the ROM hacks would too - haha!

My favorite Pokemon type is split between water and ghost. I was the biggest fan of water starters for the longest time, which I think is why I grew such a fondness for Water-types all together. I love Ghost-types because they usually have some of the best designs. I like the lore behind a lot of the ghost typing, too.

It has been a blast so far!

I have this weird relationship where I'll get really into Pokemon and then kinda fall off for a bit... give it a few months, and boom, I'm right back at it. I'm trying to stay consistent with it, though. I think its a good stress relief from the day to day.

& I haven't played too many fan games, but I am right now teaching myself RPG Maker to attempt a go at my own game - so I plan on jumping into more fan games to see their creative methods with making the game fun, but also just to see the capacity of which RPG Maker can operate.

Some of my favorites are:
- Feebas/Milotic line
- Manaphy
- Duskull line
- Blacephalon

I definitely have more, but those are the first to come to mind.

I have a few favorites from that gen, for sure - Emerald Rogue & Glazed were a lot of fun. I recently got into some FireRed hacks & have had a blast with those, too. Unbound was so much fun, and Radical Red has me pulling my hair out as Giovanni curb stomps me over and over again.

Ah!! I'm incredibly appreciative of the recommendations - I'm checking the games out right after this post ^^. I adore that Swampert is one of your favorites - Mudkip was my first ever Pokemon in my first ever game and holds such a high place in my heart. Your Swampert sounds badass!

I played Sapphire first! I played Emerald after that and then I got FireRed... I think Emerald was probably my favorite just because of it being the mix of Ruby/Sapphire, but I loved all three games. I have such vivid memories of when I was a kid playing the games and remembering how I felt when I accomplished something in game.
