    Pokemon in japanese releases has a steady pattern.
    1996
    1998
    2002
    2006

    So that would mean the new generation should be ready by 2010. No? I mean sure we still are around gym 6 but that time period between gym 5 and 6 is only 2-3 episodes. 2 or 3. Big change no? Very big change. So nintendo has either 2 choices. They either release the 5th gen by 2011 or 2010. i would say if you take in account that snowpoint gym will take them till april and then volkner by august it could happen. Just the time between gen 4 and gen 5 episodes could be very apart but the games could come out 3 months before the anime to give them time. Right?

    No prob! I thought it wouldb be better in general cause it involves anime and games but yeah no prob. And yes i have been putting thought into this. That happens rarely though as i only do so when super extremely bored.
     
    Ok true but thats only cause the first couple of generations were together.
     
    You forget math dont you? This is ends of 2008. So you would have 2009 2010 and only 2-3 months of 2011. So as i say its around 1-2 yars that we will wait till generation 5. If not then heck they have the ending the coming near us...
     
    Assuming your workings are actually right, why are you so concerned? I've always said that the fourth generation will have enough to be getting on with for quite a while, what with new forms of Pokémon, Wi-Fi, and whatever, there doesn't need to be a fifth generation created for Nintendo just yet.
     
    Hmm I think that sounds pretty accurate based on product obsolesence. Platinum will hold off fans for a while with its add-ons, but still eventually fans will become tired of seeing the same generation of Pokemon, especially bc it seems the series will hang onto this one for a while. So, why not have a new generation by 2011? 2010 does seem a bit too soon though.
     
    I personally hope Gen 4 goes on for alot longer. They are many new storylines that the anime can adapt from the games, manga and new ideas. Gen 5 is maybe too far away to be thinking about right now...
     
    Yeah, three years is the pattern. Although, D/P was an extra half year, per the American release.

    As for 1998/2000, well, in Japan, the original game was done in 96. Then, came the long process of G/S (released 99). Since the American release was pushed back a few years, it was able to be back-to-back.

    As for 2010, that's pretty realistic. Though, with D/P's later release, don't be surprised if it gets pushed back further.
