Hello Pokécommunity I'm very excited to have found this site. I have grown up with with the original Pokémon games. My grandparents gave me Pokémon Yellow when it first came out for Christmas. From then on I was in love with Pokémon. I have been collecting every version since then. I have also had many ideas for making a Pokémon fan game but didn't know where to start but, looking around on this site I don't think it will be hard to find out what I need to do. This place has everything plus the community members seem to be very nice and helpful. I'm going to be on as much as I can with my busy life with work and college.

P.S. Did I say this place is AWESOME!!!!! Pokémon rule!

Wanna start a Pokemon fangame of your own? That should be a real challenge, you should check out Emulation & Game Development, note that these two are completely different kinds of game development. The Adoption Center is always there too, just read everything that's stated there carefully, 'K?

Nice to see another veteran Pokefan joining us. I grew up with Pokemon, when I first watched the anime I got hooked onto Pokemon and never went back. I've played almost every main game from Generations 3-5, and what's my fave Pokemon you ask? Well, look at my profile for that. (And I still haven't played Black 2 and White 2 yet)


I recommend checking out the two Pokemon Gaming boards, Current Generation Pokemon Gaming and General Pokemon Gaming Discussions. The former covers Generations 4-5 while the latter covers Generations 1-3. Both are popular areas for posting in and I lurk/post there a lot. So, do you have any favorite Pokemon or characters in particular?

I'm glad I found PC too (who isn't). :P I wish I grew up with the originals :| but I'm glad I'm still with pokemon anyway. Ever since I got my first game I just clicked with pokemon and I too get all the new games anyway. So your trying to make your own game too? You might want to check out the ROM Hacking section, I haven't made mine yet but a friend of mine has the tools to do so so I'm coming up with the story line. xD Also, if you have another section in mind you might want to check out the Adoption Center where someone could tell you the specifics of that fourm!

Yeah, there are quite a lot of tools for hack-making here on the site, so I'm sure you'd find a lot of useful things over at the Emulation or Game Development sections of the site, depending on what kind of game you're interested in making. Game creation is pretty popular here on PC, and for a good reason! Fangames are really fun and help keep your interest for Pokemon alive. The hacks here are awesome though, I'm actually playing one right now before I head off to class in a half hour~

It's totally understandable if you're busy though, but great to hear that you'll be coming back whenever you have time! We're all quite friendly on the site, so never fear to contact anyone if you'd like to chat. :D I'm open to be one of your first friends as well, as I know it can be a bit intimidating to be a member on such a huge forum and not know many people.

I'm so glad to be apart of this of this community. Thank you for pointing me into the right direction to the game development thread. I found a ton of useful information about what I need to start my own Pokémon fan game and all the resources that people have posted already are amazing along with the Pokémon Essentials Starter-Kit for RPG Maker XP is just outstanding. Thanks again for the warm welcome I feel like I just fit right on in here.
