I need your opinions on my upcoming layout, please?

I need to know what I should change before it becomes final.
My website is mostly an information website about the Pokemon Special Manga and is also a fan Website for it.

If anything, do a vertical marquee for the affiliates.

The banner is kinda tall, you may want to cut off it's legs. (:P)

The poll sticks out like a sore thumb...

Maybe turn the yellow background into another shade of red, to go with rest of the layout? Cuz it's kinda bright...

...but then blue links wouldn't look good on that...

Eh, doesn't really matter. Nice looking layout overall.

Anyway, I tried a new colour for the yellow part and did away with the marquee. The Suicune pic is just a test for the background. I intend to change pics for that part once in a while. Here's the link again.

For the banner, you could just add a height="100" or something in the image tag. ^^;

And the orange looks good. The Suicune pic would be good if it were the full width...

It's pretty plain, but that's good. I think if theres too much other stuff, it's so distracting.

Well, its not to bad, but i think you could improve on these things:

First off, make the links maybe a CSS or just add a style to them. Because being a basic bold link, is a little, well lets just say it doesn't fit in with the layout.

A layout border wouldn't go astray, if you can just add like a black line or something around the layout, it wouldnt look to bad.

The middle suicune bg doesn't look very good. Maybe if you wanted to do that, put the suicune in the middle of a white image and make it the background, so the suicune is in the middle.

If you fix up some of these ,it should start to look better :)

Not bad, better than the frames one anyway. The poll colours don't fit with the rest of the layout, you should change that. Also, change the link colour (maybe navy blue would be nice). Your Essays and Comparisons lines are incorrectly spaced. If you must have a Suicune background, make it a big one so it doesn't repeat like that (if you scan it at higher res it will come out bigger then just change res to 72); also, make it a bit lighter. I also prefer anchored backgrounds if they are pictures. Hope that helps! ^^

Essays/Comparisons: I purposely made them incorrectly spaced. (They were supposed to be in the same section).
Suicune bg: I'm doing away with it
Border around tables: Good idea, I'll try it tomorrow (Need to go and sleep soon). Something like Zapchu's website?
Poll colour: I'm closing that one soon and making a new one with a new colour scheme.
Link colour/CSS: [Simone] Do you mean using CSS to make alternating colours of links on mouseover? [JA] I'll try that too tomorrow.

Yeah, i mean CSS to change the colour of the side links, just put something like this:

.menulink1:link { color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none}
.menulink1:visited { color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration: none}
.menulink1:hover { color: #FFCC00; background: none; text-decoration: none}

The Decoration is like underline, or something along those lines. If you no the colour code, just put that where i have like #ffffff (white).

Then to link to to a certain link put this code in the font or in your <a href> line. it would look something like this -

See where i put menulink1, that is the class for that CSS. It will show the colours i put in the CSS up the top of this document.

I've added in CCS for links. Navy blue for text links on orange background looked a little awful, so I'll stick to the original blue. URL again for convenience =P
I had to add in an extra line for translation links since some of the site's past and current visitors include people and fans from German, France and Poland, who may find it difficult to understand English. It won't work on frames well until I change the layout.

Edit: The translation from Google works on linked pages, while freetranslation.com does not. Same for frames, so I switched to using Google. I wonder if this is ok...
