Considering that the last three generations got remakes, I think it is possible that these two games will get the same treatment after Sun and Moon comes out.

I think Shining Pearl and Faded Diamond sounds like good names.

After they remade RS I think it's pretty much inevitable they'll get remade. Although they're currently playable on the latest consoles (I think? I'm assuming 3DS cartridges are the same, I haven't moved on from my DSi), it's a lot of transfers.

Plus, remakes keeps the profits high whilst preventing them reaching 1,000 pokémon as soon

'Faded' might be a strange title, as it doesn't really emphasise the name. Otherewise, it is possible that there could be re-makes of those. Where they prefer to go with that could depend, though naming a re-make 'shiny' might be more humorous than anything, and a slightly less self-conscious reprise of the 'HeartGold' (and more subtly 'SoulSilver') monikers.

In general, though, they are DS games and there isn't that much for them to do in re-making them, but if they don't feel like going cold turkey on re-makes after OR/AS, it might be possible.

I know the 3DS can play DS games but if remakes sell well while keeping people distracted while a new generation is in development, it wouldn't be a bad idea to see Sinnoh get remade. If Diamond & Pearl do get an updated remake, I could see Platinum elements be incorporated such as using the Platinum Sinnoh Dex instead of D/P's Sinnoh Dex since Platinum had more variety and would be easier to utilize.

This would be perfect. D/P was lacking in Pokemon choice, so having the Platinum Dex would be much better than having to use the old D/P one.

As for the chances of getting a remake, they're basically assured. Just about every remake has been highly successful, so Game Freak will probably keep at it. Free money 8)

Since HG/SS incorporated elements from Crystal, and OR/AS incorporated elements from Emerald, I think it's safe to assume that if they remade D/P, they'd incorporate some Platinum elements too.

OR/AS didn't actually include Emerald-exclusive features, but stayed more faithful to R/S with new content. The Delta Episode was a different way of having Rayquaza involved though.
