Idea for a Crystal Remake...

    I've got an idea for a Crystal Remake but it wouldn't be just a straight remake. One thing I'm thinking about adding is the ability to play as the Rival through his story, rather than simply play as the heroes. GSC music will DEFINITELY be added to this remake. I'm also thinking of just changing up certain events, so this doesn't feel like you're just replaying Gold with Fire Red style graphics. Double battling is also up there for one of the features that wasn't originally in Crystal that I might add. But yeah, this is my idea for a Pokemon GSC remake. I know Zel's already doing a remake of this, but I'm also interested in doing one with a few of my own twist.

    Here are a few examples of the remixes I've done so far...

    Well, Only Pokemon Acanthite ( Which is a fangame, not a hack ) has you playing as the G/S Rival, So its an idea which hasn't been used much.
     
    I like that idea alot. Playing through G/S/C, but at the rivals point of view. And your rival will be gold/silver/crystal. One question, though. The G/S/C rival is a boy, what will you do about the girl character? or will you make up a girl rival?
     
    Now theres four people who planned on doing this, Esmas, thethethethe and me didn't want to, but now someone else xD.

    Good luck with it, though it's going to be more challenging then you thought, how are you going to do Slowpoke's Well? The hero beats them and then you fight the before Ilex Forest? Theres alot of things you'll have to do..
     
    Please no more GSC remakes :tired:
    They never get completed, there are already about 50 of them already. Nothing is special about them, come up with your own idea for once.

    He can do a GSC remake if he wants..It is his hack you know .. -_-

    :ontopic: well, if your gonna play as the rival..hmm, that'll be alittle hard, since the rival is mean, dosen't care of getting badges..(lol) and 'There's no pokemon game without an evil team'.. but an idea would have been to just make an hack in johto with another hero, and run his storyline..

    Oh my gosh people, let him do a dang G/S/C remake if he wants too. If you want a new storyline, go make your own hack instead of flaming him.

    On topic: Like kirstian said, maybe you could make a new character, but do it through the storyline of the G/S/C rival.

    Wait a minute, who said a remake couldn't be something new? That's a silly way of thinking. In this remake I'm planning to add a lot of "new" things. More than a plain remake it'll be like an upgraded version of GSC so there will be some new stuff.

    If your gonna do a remake though, you gotta do it right.

    1. headbutt trees (always a good feature to GSC remakes, like in shiny gold)
    2. Right scripts (don't get rid of any, its a remake, only add your own)
     
    Its not the fact that its a GSC remake, its the fact that you are reinventing the Johto weel. Why put your self through all that bother doing all the Johto maps and scripts when most of them wll be identical to another Johto "upgrade" hack.
    Why dont you jsut get permission from a person you has done one already and modify it to suit your needs, faling that why not jsut hack gold?
