Idea for a new type of competitive battle

Yeah, I think that's what I'm saying. It's pointless to go further than ~170 because the stats won't increase any more at that level. Of course 170 is just a number that's sort of close to the actual number which you'll have to look up. I forget it atm.

Also, the maxing point depends on the stat. At level 100, max is always 252. But at level 5, it changes depending on the base stat or something. It's complicated, and I know there's a guide somewhere but I can't find it.

EDIT: You can deposit the Pokemon in the box or level it up for the vitamins to take effect.

They do somewhat. Think about it. You get 10 from each vitamin, equaling +2 to a stat (because 8/4=2). How often do you see the change the vitamin causes increase by 2? Only once in a while (like every three I think) which means all the EVs aren't being put in right then and there. On the second vitamin if that happened, it'd go up three. (8/4=2+1=3, if you don't know how I got this, just ask)

EDIT: Does that trick really work? (The boxing one) I've never heard it before, but probably because it doesn't really matter because most people play level 100 battles.

EDIT2: Ok, I got my team together. Not the best, but since this is the place to post teams for rating:

Hang on, how does a thumb with a face sticking out of the ground use Sucker Punch?!

xD Good point, but it learns it at level 23. xD It probably is so dang fast though, that when if comes out to punch, it's back in its hole in less than 0.000000001 seconds. xD Or he just does it.

I have a grass/water weakness on two of my pokemon (x4 on Onix. DX) so I'm thinking of replacing Mantyke's Ground Hidden Power for a Grass or elecrtic one. (Water would be more common to encounter than grass would) I'm leaning more towards Grass because it can also take care of those pesky Water/Ground types aside from normal water types.

Or maybe It's hands are underground in the hole. XD. Either way, it can learn it. And as Sabaku said, at Level 23.

Well, there's also the idea of making Hidden Power the Flying type, so that it becomes a STAB move and covers the Grass weakness. Then you could use something else instead of Aerial Ace, like Agility, Confuse Ray, Haze, Signal Beam, or Toxic.

Seeing as people are already posting teams, Im sure unit and I will soon have to post a full team criteria. Its up to Unit, but im guessing this will be happening soon after christmas, so everyone has time to train.

Some good points have been raised that will help us set the criterea to be fairer :)

Yeah, that could work. Haze would be my choice, but I figured that stat raising moves wouldn't be too ample in this kind of battle. But maybe. So it's between Signal Beam and Agility for me. Don't know though. I need suggestions on all three actually.

Better idea. Why would I choose Agility over Rain Dance? (Swift Swim ability) Water absorb would be pointless because people wouldn't even try to hit it with water type attacks. Plus I get added damage to Surf, which actually can be very helpful (as I have figured out Sunny Day can really help kill my soon to be awesome Bronzong. xD)

EDIT: And me being the idiot that I am, I just realized that I can't get Aqua Ring on him. He doesn't learn it at level 25 or lower. XP Kills that idea.

EDIT2: Ice beam and HP [Grass] = Grass and Water killing. But if I were to choose a HP for keeping him alive, I'd keep it ground because weakness to Rock and Electric.

Hmm guys i am here now to help you on the EV`s and how to have them at the maximum by lvl 25...

And thats just simple math, to have the stat you want max at lvl 25 then 63 points is more than enough because it wont have more effect other than that max (so thats 15 extra points to a stat you want)

As you see i always say everything as clearer and shorter as possible but anyways a lot of questions will pop up so enjoy while i can (gtg work in about 30-40 minutes) :3

Stealth rock with Choice scarf = fail use the Stone edge TM.

Porygon@Choice Specs
Modest~252 Special Attack/HP; 4 Speed
Tri Attack
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Shadow Ball

~Special Sweeper

Its not classified as a sweeper if it isn't fast enough its more of a special tank I suppose. But good.

Somehow I don't see a physical move working out to great on this guy but I don't know any other moves for it maybe Ice beam?

Changes in bold.

This sounds fun. Its like a test to see if you can properly train pokemon at any level.

Before i forget to mention some of the things in the rules, don't start planning your teams so deeply (this goes to you Sabaku no Gaara :P) because we are banning some items that will just be ridiculous to have in such low lvl battles (talking about the Choice items and some more) because if you where able to use ANY item then you could sweep most of a player`s team with just one pokemon (That Digglet got the creeps outta me xD) Mmm leftover`s are still in, just put it to all the pokes and hope for the best with the team.

I got a team for this as well:

Starly@ choice band
EVs: 252atk/ 100hp/ 156spd
Hasty
-Aerial Ace
-Return
-Pursuit
-U-turn

Hp is to survive at least one hit and lol at my opponent.

Eevee@ leftovers
EVs: 252hp/ 100spdef/156def
Adamant
-Return
-Wish
-Curse
-Toxic

Special Wall

Spoink@ choice scarf
EVs: 252spd/ 252spatk/ 6hp
Modest
-Extrasensory
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Ground
-Charge beam

Special sweeper

Snover@ leftovers
EVs: 252hp/ 160def/ 96spdef
Relaxed
-Avalanche
-Leech seed
-Seed Bomb
-Swords Dance/ Return/ Toxic/ Grasswhistle

Can't decide on last move for him.

What about life orb and expert belt?

Nice idea ultranerd, but we might be banning choice items as they bring their respective stat way higher than a lvl 25 could realistically hit.

Special sweeper/ Tank

This is not a tank. This is a full fledged special sweeper. There is no defensive strategy here, only offense. A tank can take hits; this can't with that EV spread.

I just thought I should point that out.

Like We've said, its in the early stages and we're looking throught for items and moves which could be potentially all-powerful. We dont want people concentrating on a single 'all powerful' poke, its aimed at theme and fun.

I said special tank because it has a Base spdef of 80 so it can take a couple of special attacks.

That doesn't matter. You gave no EVs to HP, Defense, or Special Defense, and all four of your Spoink's moves are attacks. That makes it a special sweeper, regardless of whether it can take a hit.
