Idea for a new type of competitive battle

In that case *goes to download* xD Seriously I guess we could battle both then. ^^ This completely eliminates any need for discussion on it. Well of course we need unit's permission.

In the meantime, I'll start working on my team. ^^

Shoddy Battle isn't working for me...XP I'll keep trying though.

I don't know if Choice Items will be allowed in this tournament. They'd make the Pokémon far stronger than any Lv. 25 non-uber could be, so anything with a Choice Item could easily sweep an entire team. The Choice Scarf might be allowed, since it boost Speed, but other than that I think they're banned.

Choice Items will most likely be banned. Sorry. xD (And Shoddy just won't work for me, so I can't use it. XP)

Our Digletts are different, which is good.

Before i forget to mention some of the things in the rules, don't start planning your teams so deeply (this goes to you Sabaku no Gaara :P) because we are banning some items that will just be ridiculous to have in such low lvl battles (talking about the Choice items and some more) because if you where able to use ANY item then you could sweep most of a player`s team with just one pokemon (That Digglet got the creeps outta me xD) Mmm leftover`s are still in, just put it to all the pokes and hope for the best with the team.

According to this choice items are banned nfortunately. But they never actually answered about Expert Belt and Life orb so I'm thinking of a E-belt Elekid. =P

OK, here's the first draft for my team:

Scyther (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP/100 Def/158 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Agility
- X-Scizzor
- Baton Pass

SD and Agilipasser. Self-explanatory.
---
Buneary (♀) @ Iron Ball/Lagging Tail
Ability: Klutz
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Return
- Ice Punch
- Jump Kick
- Switcheroo

This one's quite novel. She already has decent speed, but I'm going to use Klutz/Switcheroo to actually make use of the ability. Return for STAB, Ice Punch and Jump Kick for coverage. Will be more viable in this environment due to lack of Choice items.
---
Pichu (♂) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Special sweeper. As a big fan of the Pikachu line, I'll be sure to make use of this. Sash so I can be sure to get a NP in. I'll try and breed for HP Ice, but nothing is guranteed, as there doesn't seem to be another Special Attack he can use, except maybe Swift from Emerald.
---
Turtwig (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP/52 Atk/200 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Seed Bomb
- Synthesis
- Bite

Tank. Fairly straightforward. Curse up, Synthesis for recovery, attack with Seed Bomb and Bite. Mudkip is also an option here, as I've been randomly breeding Cursekips. Lack of a recovery move throws me off though.
---
Pineco (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
- Explosion

Physical Wall. Used in the same way as Forry in Standard.
---
Tentacool (♂) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Confuse Ray
- Rest
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall

Special Wall. Thinking about replacing him though: No team support and no reliable recovery move. So the best I can do is Confuse Ray, SD up, then rest before mini-sweeping with Waterfall.
---

So yeah, that's the provisional. Let me know what you think. But I must ask you not to steal my ideas, I've spent an hour or two looking at possible team members and movesets.

EDIT: I've also just noticed the massive Fire-type weakness. :(

I'd use X-Scissor over Quick Attack, in case of Ghosts.

Buneary (♀) @ Iron Plate
Ability: Klutz
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Lonely nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Return
- Ice Punch
- Jump Kick
- Switcheroo

I think you mean Iron Ball, not Iron Plate. The Iron Plate makes the holder's Steel attacks do 20% more damage, while the Iron Ball makes the Pokémon slower (cuts Speed in half?) and negates any Ground immunity the holder may have due to being Flying type or having Levitate. The Iron Ball also has the highest base power when used with Fling. Other than that, I'd recommend an Adamant Nature over a Lonely one, because Gabite can still own you with Bite.

Pichu (♂) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Special sweeper. As a big fan of the Pikachu line, I'll be sure to make use of this. Sash so I can be sure to get a NP in. I'll try and breed for HP Ice, but nothing is guranteed, as there doesn't seem to be another Special Attack he can use, except maybe Swift from Emerald.

This is both good and straightforward. Just watch out for Taunt.

Turtwig (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP/52 Atk/200 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Seed Bomb
- Synthesis
- Stealth Rock/Bite

Tank. Curse up, Synthesis for recovery, attack with Seed Bomb. Stealth Rock for team support, or could switch with Bite. It's the best I can do before Lv. 25.

I'd pick Bite here, because having only one attack doesn't look good to me. You can use Stealth Rock just fine, it's just that I don't really see it as useful in this situation.
---
Pineco (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake/Gyro Ball
- Explosion

Physical Wall. Used in the same way as Forry in Standard.

Gyro Ball looks better here, especially if you use an Iron Ball here (I know you won't).
---
Tentacool (♂) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Confuse Ray
- Rest
- Swords Dance
- Waterfall

Special Wall. Thinking about replacing him though: No team support and no reliable recovery move. So the best I can do is Confuse Ray, SD up, then rest before mini-sweeping with Waterfall

Using Rest without Sleep Talk is still dangerous, even though this isn't your usual battle. It means your opponent gets a free turn while you switch, or two free turns while you wait for Tentacool to wake up. There's also Bug Bite and Pluck to worry about, so I'd use Natural Gift over Rest here, and a different Berry if you don't keep Rest.
---

So yeah, that's the provisional. Let me know what you think.

Well, that's what I think. Overall, it's not a bad team for a rough draft.

Sneasel ftw.

Sneasel@Choice Band
Jolly
EVs:252 Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
-Ice Punch
-Pursuit
-Brick break
-Aerial Ace

>:D

Choice Items are BANNED!

Damnit, yeah, I'll edit my post. I've copied this from Shoddy where I throw together some teams and get a feel of the stats. It doesn't let you choose Iron Ball as an Item. And Buneary's nature was meant to be Adamant, I forgot to change it. Shoddy automatically sets them to Lonely. Bunny's ability makes her unable to use items, so Switcheroo is vialble in this environment, I think. And I've just realised if I'm using Waterfall, Calm is a bad idea :/

Thanks for your help, though. :)

Life Orb will most likely be banned too, having nearly the same effect as Choice items. As for the Choice Scarf, I think it should be allowed because it doesn't raise attack stats at all. Just speed, but that's up to unit.

No problem! :)

Boo, no CB? :[ Life orb/Sash then T_T

I personally don't like Choice Items. I'd use the Metronome first.

Why the hell are Scyther and Sneasel not banned?

Because as long as the Pokemon is in it's base form and CAN evolve, it's allowed. And at Lv. 25, the differences in stats won't be so evident compared to if they were at Lv.100.

Why the hell are Scyther and Sneasel not banned?

Scyther's Defense and Special Defense are crap, his Attack isn't high enough without a Choice Band or Life Orb to OHKO anything not weak to his attack, Sneasel's simply isn't very good anywhere, and what DeanoDance said.

People ive already told you dont go so deep in planning your teams and DeanoDance it will be 4v4 battles.

Just wait until the main thread for this pops up, then you will go deep into it and check everything as you would normally do, also plan your team 100% full ^_^

The thread will be up in a day or two (or even this same night if i have enough time) and im planning on doing two separate categories, one for Shoddy and one via WiFi with the DS and D/P

Ok, but I don't see why we shouldn't. It will take a while to EV train and breed and level to 25. But it's up to you. ^^

What items are banned? Choice Band/Specs/Scarf? and Life Orb? Because we all want to know. xD

~desu Saba~

It might take a while to finish the banned items list so you can start by thinking what pokes your gonna use and also i posted this already but i think you guys ignored me xD.

How to successfully EV train your Baby Pokemon`s

Since as you saw you can still EV train now I will cover up a guide on how to EV train your pokemon for these category

Well you know the lvl cap is 25 so that means you will only have ¼ of the EV`s you will normally gain if you fully EV train that means you can spread your EV`s even more like this:

A normal pokemon at lvl 100 max EV is 252 meaning it gains 63 points, now looking that you can just add to plus of ¼ of those EV`s so its 63 EV that is 15.75 points (just 15 the machine doesn't circle it) so your able to spread your EV`s into 8.1 different stats.

This means that you can put your max number (63 points) to each stat you have as long as it doesn't exceeds 380 base cap we have set.

So now you go like Yayyy we can put the max to each stat but we have to be careful on not exceeding the cap woot! Yep that's right kiddo, as long as you don't go over its ok.

Now go and play with your EV`s as you wish guys ^_^ :3

Base stats and stats after EVing are two totally different things, that really confused me...

But really, what's the deal with the choice item ban? I don't see the point, if somebody would please exlpisn that to me ^_^
