This is a not a will, this is a what if topic. Say Ash were to utilize Mega Evolution. We're aware Ash only has a few Pokemon that can Mega Evolve. He has a Heracross, Glalie Charizard and Sceptile. We know that Ash only has five Pokemon on his team at the moment. I don't know if he's going capture anymore at this time. Perhaps he's leaving a space for one of his older Pokemon, it's a possibility for him. So, I'm wondering if he were to suddenly utilize Mega Evolution, which of his available four that can Mega Evolve will he be using, in your opinion?

Considering Ash Greninja is already a thing, will he utilize Mega Evolution? What do you think?

The Person who deserve Megevolution the most is Ash !
EVen Alain isn't as deserving for Megevolution as Ash considering he got a Keystone by becoming Lysandre's Lackey.
Ash-Greninja seem to be Anime exclusive evolution.
No matter how rare it is , It doesn't make up for Keystone .
A trainer with Keystone can megevolve multiple pokemon just like finding their Keystone.
But Ash can not Ash-evolve his other pokemon ! I don't think the Anime can afford any other Anime exclusive pokemon for Ash.
Furthermore , Ash-Greninja shown nothing that makes it better them Megevolution ! Rather , It shown more flaws and problem then Megevolution.
    Such as ---

--- Greninja seem to activate his evolution after taking several hits! Which mean , Its already half-dead when he transform into Ash-Greninja.

---Ash & Greninja share pains So Ash's body will be so constant danger whenever he uses Ash-Greninja. Therefore , If Something Ash should as less as possible.

--- Ash & Greninja get tired from using Ash-Greninja.

--- Ash-Greninja is only slightly stronger then base pokemon But its power is no match for a Real Mega like Alain's Charizard considering that Charizard barely felt Ash-Greninja Aerial Ace .

--- Pokemon gain special ability from Megevolution But I doubt that Ash-Greninja get any new ability at all since its Anime-exclusive.

Truth is , Ash-Greninja seem like a Excuse to give Shota a Free Mega Sceptile without anyone complaining over it !

You don't want Mega Evolution there at the moment, you suspect. Mega Evolution is in a mode of promotion, or being promoted, and as such is essentially just arbitrariness at this point. Ash's battles are increasingly tending towards arbitrariness as it may be, it's probably not capable of supporting such in existent forms at the moment.

Firstly, you forgot about Glalie as it can Mega Evolve as well. Second, of the 4 Pokemon he has that can, I'd say it'd have to be either Sceptile or Charizard, neither of which is still, if at all, likely, seeing as there are two other trainers with mega evolutions of the same Pokemon. I suppose Ash could end up with the Charizardite Y but still not very likely. I think the writers are just going to have Ash-Greninja as the "mega Pokemon" on Ash's team so as to avoid repeats of other megas. I'd love to see him use the power of mega evolution with any one of those four Pokemon he has that can but it just doesn't seem very likely.

I apologize, I often forget Ash evolved his Snorunt for some reason. I edited the OP to reflect this.

I'm in agreement with Mega Charizard Y, if Ash were to utilize Mega Evolution. Considering his Charizard has returned a few times, I'd love to see it happen by the Pokemon League, but I'm doubtful it will due to Ash-Greninja, like you stated already. Mega Charizard Y still has yet to be seen in the anime, which is why I'm thinking it's not entirely impossible for Ash to utilize Mega Evolution, just highly unlikely.

As for Sceptile, I can't see him using his while Sawyer (is that his name), has one on his arsenal.

Anyway, as for my opinion, IF Ash utilizes Mega Evolution, I'd like to see him use his Heracross, actually. When was the last time we saw this one? Sinnoh? Probably. I think it would be an interesting twist if he used Heracross again, but I can only hope. I still, to this day, think it's a shame Ash doesn't use his Heracross more, but I digress.

As for utilizing Mega Evolution itself, I don't think Ash would use it all the time, if he were to, only when he's in a pinch. Or maybe that's just what I want to think, I suppose. I prefer Ash-Greninja over Ash using Mega Evolution, anyway, but I am pretty curious what he would do with it.

I agree with that. I do think there is a small, if not miniscule, chance that Ash uses Charizard Y which would be pretty awesome and most likely if it were to happen. Since as you said, Charizard tends to make a lot of cameos.

I agree with the Heracross assessment. I always liked Ash's Heracross and it was most definitely under utilized. You're right that we never really get to see it anymore and it would be sweet if it came back around the Pokemon League because a Mega Heracross would be a great partner for Ash I think, as would a Mega Glalie too since it would fill a need on his team. Glalie is just another little used Pokemon of Ash's that should have been a main member of his rotation.

As for GreninjAsh, I see it as being something that is going to be used less going forward since it causes so much pain to them both and takes a lot more to activate. This leaves a little bit of an opening for Ash to utilize Mega Evolution more, if given the opportunity by the writers.

I think he'd almost HAVE to have Mega Charizard Y, to parallel Alain's Mega Charizard X. He'd probably win that battle, too. Ash's Charizard has always been the one that comes back, one of his biggest powerhouses, and it'd make sense for him to Mega Evolve it somewhere down the line, if he were to utilise Mega Evolution at all...

...which I don't think he will, somehow. Ash has already shown he's quite capable of dealing with Mega Evolutions, and bringing out the natural strength of a Pokemon through his bond with it, like the Greninja thing, is more in keeping with his personality and battle style. A Mega Evolution for anything other than his Charizard wouldn't really be very in-character, in my opinion. Although if he DID, maybe he'd actually stand a chance of winning the league this time around...or not.
