If I were to buy a digital Nintendo E-shop card from the internet, where would the code show up? Email? Somewhere else? I am considering using Amazon in this case.

Usually the site you buy from will send the code to your e-mail inbox, although with Amazon you can view My Orders -> Order Details -> Go to Your Games Library and you'll see the codes there. You should also get e-mail confirmation though.

Pretty much exactly what Dawn says, either they mail the code to you or you can find it somewhere in your order details/game library.

They can e-mail it to you sometimes. I've had that.
