If you could remove 1 feature from the mainstream Pokemon Games...

    ...What would it be? There are a wide array of features to choose from
    such as abilities, or EVs. If you had the power to, which single feature would
    you remove? Personally, I would remove IVs, even if they provide stat boosts, you can still get a powerful Pokemon without them and a perfect/near-perfect spread
    is extremely rare.
     
    The Mobile Phone feature. Yes it makes pokemon HG/SS more modern but it is so darn annoying with it ringing all the time!
     
    Natures. I hate them! here's why: looking for a rare special attacker for your team, finally finding one, and then it's adamant natured (-SpA, +Att) WTF?!?!?
     
    Events, sure there cool trophies, and when you get them they're awesome. But what about people who don't live in Japan or America, what about people who don't have acess to Wifi, and what about the people who play on Emulators.

    In my honest opinion, events give more pain then joy.

    If you don't live in JP or USA use Wi-Fi.
    No Wi-Fi? It's the 21st century, get it. There are many alternatives for Wi-Fi.
    Video games are meant to SELL, not pirate off the computer, it's illegal.
    If you're playing on an emulator, too bad. It's your fault for being cheap.

    ANYWHO.

    What would I like to change?..
    I'd want to add the Pokeradar. It's harder to find shinies now.. :|

    They do have events in major European countries, Australia, South Korea. So its not just the US and Japan.

    As for what I could do with out is Wifi Plaza I never played any of the mini games, so if it was gone it wouldn't break my heart.
     
    I want to get rid of events because most people, like me, rarely have the time to attend Pokemon events.
     
    Critical hits!!! I never get them when I need them, and they always happen when I would be otherwise safe!
     
    Events. I'm happy that I can get them now, but I'd rather have rare legendary Pokemon (like Victini) and other stuff in the game after a certain point, not via event. I just now was able to get Wi-Fi, and said Wi-Fi is McDonalds.

    HMs also need to go. They're just really annoying.
     
    If I could remove one thing... oof. I don't think I would want to remove anything, even if I don't use it, because I know other people would enjoy it and I would feel like crap. (Yes, that's my serious thought process. Shut up. XD) So... I would say I want to remove the DS' ability to download events in seconds. Yes, it did get irritating when you had to wait in line for three hours or whatever to get a Pokémon, but those really felt like community events, not just walking in to a GameStop or Toys R Us and ignoring the evil glares you feel everyone sending at you while you collect your Pokémon.

    And for those of you who want events gone because you're in the wrong country/can't go to them: why? You already go without them anyway. It seems a little silly to deprive everyone else.
     
    Gotta agree with them event haters. I also never had one in my entire life ;'(

    And not considering B/W, I'd stop assuming every main character was 10.
     
    If you event haters are wanting too include the pokemon within the game without the event then I could see how that would be nice. But an inclusion of the event altogether just cause you don't like it or it is not in your country(which it is your probably just don't know it, or it will be in the near future) seems kind of silly. If there was no event then there wouldn't be the pokemon outside of cheating devices.
     
    Eh... critical hits. They're not so bad in-game, but when battling with actual people they're a pain. Naturally if my opponent scores a KO or wins because they got a critical hit, it feels a bit unfair. But I feel even worse when I'm the one who gets a KO or win from a critical hit. It's like I didn't really deserve the victory or advantage; I just happened to get lucky. Even though they're rare, they can really change the way a battle's turning out. If you want a fair battle, they just get in the way.

    Yeah HM's need to go. It would be better if any water pokemon could surf and any fighting type could Rock Smash, I mean how would they live in the pokemon world without knowing those skills from birth. There should be no need to teach them those HM's they should be able to do it on their own. So yes HM's need to go.
     
    Add me to the get rid of HMs bandwagon. It's incredibly annoying to either have a HM slave taking up a spot or having to get rid of good moves to teach HM moves.
     
    HM's. Or at the very least relegate them to a "fifth" slot that you only use in the field and doesn't take up your four battle move-slots (unless you want to use the HM move in battle).
     
    Pokémon Contests. I never really saw the point in them, besides possibly in the anime.

    And I'll have to agree about the Events as well, specifically the few which still recquire your physical presence outside of WiFi. I am not about to hop on a plane to Japan or America so that I can get a shiny Celebi or whatever. XD
     
    I don't think there's a need to get rid of event Pokémon. I can easily get them from a friend in a trade. My Wi-Fi at home doesn't seem to want to co-operate with my DS >< But I'm sure if I really tried I could probably find it in a coffee shop or McDonalds if I wanted!
    I hope they start bringing Event Pokémon to the UK and Ireland :3

    As for what I'd like to change? I'd like to see an editable avatar, or even just a choice of colour scheme or something ^.^

    They did get rid of Contests in BW and replaced them with Musicals. So I would in turn say get rid of Musicals although I haven't tried it yet. Also joining the HM bandwagon.
     
    The following Pokémon feature is already gone in Gen 5, so there's no need to mention that.

    I'm going to go further than the event haters and say version-exclusive Pokémon (and all other stupidly difficult to obtain Pokémon, which incidentally includes events). You can make all the claims you want about it promoting trading and social interaction (no longer true with wi-fi); the only reason there are version exclusives is to sell more games. It's a very simple and successful marketing strategy, but it's terrible as a game. I don't like having one game for the price of two (or even up to 5, across multiple platforms if you want to catch 'em all).
