    I fought Red about a week ago on my Silver version, and...I'm disappointed greatly. My level 50-52 team beat his 75-81 team. Snorlax was a pain and took a while, but other than that...I expected more. Anyone else have an easy time defeating Red?
     
    I was also disapointed.
    For someone who began a worldwide series, he was weak. Silver could have beaten him.
     
    Damn, I had the exact same experience. I had to actually use an elixir on my Tyranitar's Earthquake because Snorlax kept sleeping it off. What's even worse, 2 of the pokemon were HM slaves. Red=FAIL.
     
    I really hope he's better in HGSS. With new level up movesets for each of his Pokemon, that should help. I wanted a challenge.

    Pikachu was the easiest, though, simply because it was unevolved. He gets the benefit of the doubt, I suppose. The others have no excuse.

    I'm hoping that because Pokemon's level-up movesets have changed over time that his team will be better in HGSS. I mean, I didn't OHKO anything, but most of it was 2HKO, and that's still not very good on Red's part.

    I'd say they will update his team for HG/SS. At the very least I'd say they will give Pikachu Volt Tackle. Since the timeline is later on there is a possibility they will change his team a little too.

    When I played Silver I couldn't beat him but then I faced him in Crystal and wooped him good.
     
    i think all of the important characters (except for some of the Frontier brains) are very easy including Red

    I swept his entire team with a Feraligatr...when I was 7. It was level 100, so I'll admit that it was probably a touch unfair as far as levels were concerned. Hydro Pump eats Pikachu and 2HKOs Snorlax if I remember right. After that's gone...I have absolutly no trouble...

    My favorite battle is the Pidgey only run...its on youtube, so if you want to see it, you should. Its incredible.
