Is Ash a disappointment?

Why would Ash release Lycanroc? I don't think Lycanroc arc is going to be the same as Greninja's arc.

Goodra has a home he wants to protect and Ash can call him back for something if need be,
I prefer that Greninja and Goodra to be at oak's lab so they are still officially owned. As for Lycanroc, the writers don't seem to want ash to have anything good.

Ash still have both Greninja and Goodra pokeballs as seen in ep 1 of sun and moon when he gave them to professor oak. And I still think that there won't be a good reason to release Lycanroc.

Ash never released any of his Pokemon in the conventional sense like Paul did etc. Ash always lets them be happy but he keeps their Pokeballs so that they won't be able to be caught by someone else so inherently they're still kinda his. Greninja will come back to him once his job of sensing all the remnants is done. Will the anime show it is a whole other story though.

How are they even the same? All I want is to feel like hes getting some where with his goal.

Well for even when he was a BF lvl trainer DP Ash was beaten by trainers he should be stronger than so that shows how much the anime cares about that feat.

The BF treated his wins like an joke, the same can be said about DP as well. I mean Ash only improved in one region, with no call back to what he did in the last region. The Original series was better because it shown that Ash did improved as an pokemon trainer for both regions Kanto and Johto, there was no point for him to even go to Hoenn because he didn't developed at all as a pokemon trainer, and while he did gotten better as a pokemon trainer in the Sinnoh region, he only improved for that one region and that was about it.

Pokeballs don't mean anything. Unless they are at oak's lab, they are released. I wouldn't count on ash keeping lycanroc.

No it won't. It is gone.

Why would Ash keep Greninja and Goodra pokeballs if they are released? They can come back if they want to.

He kept the pokeballs as sentimental value. I am certain those two are released and i am also certain ash can not win a league ever.

No that means that Greninja and Goodra are still his pokemon and if he used his strongest team he can win a league and his strongest team is GPICSS.
No it doesn't. People can keep pokeballs as sentimental value. That is what Ash did. Both are released. I made up my mind. And no, ash can not win even with all his strongest. Again i made up mind.

If thats the case then Ash released Charizard and Gliscor then.

No. Both Charizard and gliscor are at oak's lab. That counts as still being owned by Ash.

So because Greninja and Goodra are still in Kalos they are not Ash's pokemon... When we never seen him really release them with the pokeball.
If they are not in oak's lab then yes they are released. I consider them released even if others don't.

As for Ash wining the league, lets wait and see. I won't expect him to win but i won't be disappointed if he did.

The only way you can release your pokemon is with the pokeball like how Paul did, but Ash never did that with any of his pokemon.
Well for me, until those two are living at oak's lab, i am treating them as released. That is how i feel.

Anyway i am disappointed by the new design of Ash. Why did they had to change him like that? He, brock and misty look so weird.

Well Greninja can come back after he's done helping Zygarde in Kalos because after that he's has no reason not to go back to Ash. And now I think SM Ash's design ok not as good as before but still ok.

Like i said, i consider it released until the anime proves otherwise. Until then, i expect ash to do what he always does.

And the anime proved in DP with Paul the only way you can release a pokemon is with the pokeball and Ash didn't do that.
That applies to Paul only. Ash's pokemon is released. That is how i see it. You don't have to agree but respect my choice of what i consider released.

I seriously fail to see how it only apply to Paul. Unless you are claiming that he is such a gadget expert he can outright modify Poke Balls to do that, I'm pretty sure that applies to all trainers, not just Paul (besides, we already had something similar happen in Kanto with Damian, where he used the "Poke ball, go!" animation when telling Charmander to return instead of that recall laser function, which strongly implied that Damian actually released Charmander from his ownership.).
