Just wondering if such a thing is possible, would save a lot of time in a ROM I'm working on.

edit: Forgot to specify that I was working on a Fire Red hack

I would assume that the trade is mechanically completed before the cutscene even fades in, which you could confirm by going into the memory viewer and checking out your party at that point.

As far as I can tell, though, no one has ever done what you're after. You'd probably have to look into the ASM of the special command itself and null out what triggers the cutscene, which would be simple to do if Game Freak set it up logically. Locating it will be the issue.

I can't imagine it would be difficult. Even if you couldn't find the place to "remove" the trade scene (which I'm sure you could), it would be very easy to replicate the effect of the trade. It would be as simple as using a party slot deletion routine followed by a custom give pokemon routine (to mimic the way that in game trades give specific IVs, nicknames, etc). Both of those exist publicly, so you could do it even without asm knowledge.

P.S. You liked your own post (I'm assuming) by accident.

Thanks, I'll look into the custom give pokemon routine.

And yeah, wanted to know what that little icon did lol
