Is Pokemon undergoing a scandal right now?

    Hi.

    Mayumi Iizuka retweeted a Twitter post from Junichi Masuada of GameFreak, and... well, this may be the translation being bugged, but the way he is talking indicated that GameFreak is currently undergoing a scandal involving boobs on Pokémon and it will appear on star TV. Here's the post:

    Translation (at least via the built-in translator for Twitter): All the Pokemon boobs! Soon Pokemon get ☆ TV hajimaruyo-! Today the scandal, it appeared! Looking forward!


    He may be talking about the band "Scandal", but on the other hand, they didn't seem to capitalize the name with the translation.

    On a related note, Mayumi Iizuka implied in a Twitter post three hours ago that she did voice work for Misty for whatever this thing is, or at least that's what Twitter's bing translator wiget indicated:

PROBABLY information on either OR/AS, or the Diancie movie.

    Whatever it is, it's clear Mayumi Iizuka has some voice role as Misty for this occasion, due to that tweet ten hours ago. Still, Bing translator made it seem as though it was an actual scandal, not simply a well-kept secret, and apparently boobs in Pokémon were involved (I wonder what that translator translated that came out as "boobs")?
     
    Maybe they started to listen to fans and show what fans want...?
     
    I'm just gonna assume we're got some weird translations going on here tbh. Google gives me "You, ll poke Morning! Starting Pokemon get ☆ TV soon! The scandal's appearance today! Fun! !" and "Pokemon get ☆ TV Wai! Wai! Kasumi" respectively. Still probably not the best translations, but... no boobs.

    I do wonder why Misty's suddenly back in the picture though. Maybe she's gonna have something to do with the Mega-Evolution Specials?

    Excuse my poor translation, but I think it says:
    Everyone, Pokemon morning! Soon, Pokemon getto (Get?) TV will begin. Today, Sukyandaru-san will debut. Please enjoy.

    Something like that. It can be assumed that Scandal-san is referring to a person, as -san is a suffix for a person's name in Japanese.
    I'm not sure if debut is right (I used google translate because I can't read kanji very well) but it seems right in context.

    That would indicate the band for the upcoming movie. But on the other hand, Twitter's built-in translator did not capitalize "scandal", nor did it even use "san" in there.

    I'm not sure how exactly reliable Twitter's translator is, but I've been learning Japanese for a few years, so I really hope that I'm accurately translating :) I don't think that the translator itself could recognize if the S in Scandal was capitalized or not, as in Japanese there is no way to indicate capitalization. さん is "san." It could mean another word, such as three, but as it is placed after "Scandal," it probably is a polite way of referring to the band. Like Google translate or any automated translating service, the Twitter translator sometimes may not give an accurate interpretation of sentences or certain words in context.

    Fair enough. I'm guessing you're a lot better at Japanese than I am. I've got Elementary Japanese part 1 down, but part 2, well, let's just say I was forced to drop it to prevent my inevitably flunking the course.
