    Hey PC, I was wondering if the game XD is good. Because I actually was thinking of getting a spinoff game sometime soon and I wanted your suggestions for it.


    Some questions to answer: (Maybe)


    Would it occupy me?
    What kind of customization can I do? (Name, looks, etc.)
    What is the storyline?
    What do you get to do?

    I absolutely love the "spin-off" games. (I HATE CALLING THEM THAT, but it's true)
    It is likely you could, too, but it depends if you don't mind a lot of mechanics being different from the original games.

    I kinda spoil things, but we all know you have to defeat the villain team at the end.

    If you care enough, for a good 6 hours plus.

    What kind of customization can I do? (Name, looks, etc.)
    Absolutely nothing besides the name and Pokemon nicknames. Do not expect things like X and Y. At all.

    What is the storyline?
    Picks up a few years after Colosseum. You are a kid, whose Mother(Lily) works at a Pokemon Lab in the Orre Region. The villain team from Colosseum, Cipher, is starting to make "Shadow Pokemon" again, and you are given the Snag Machine to allow you to "Snag" their Pokemon, in battle. You ultimately defeat Cipher, making friends and enemies along the way.

    What do you get to do?
    -Snag Shadow Pokemon from Trainers and Cipher Peons/Admins/Leaders.
    -Explore Orre.
    -Battle in colosseum battles.
    -Catch Wild Pokemon from PokeSpots.
    -Listen to Miror B's theme.
    -HAVE FUN! :D (if you get it)

    Edit: Oh, Yeah, your starter is a level 10 Eevee. You can evolve it any of the first five ways you want.
     
    Wow, XD sounds great! So it's like the future Colluseum which was pretty good.
     
    From what most people have stated, Colosseum has the better storyline with fewer pokemon to select from. I would absolutely agree. The story-line in in Colosseum is much more gripping despite having fewer opportunities to capture pokemon. It depends on which of those two things, story or character variety is most important to your enjoyment. I personally go with the character variety, though, I do like both games nearly equal. (But I am a sucker for character selection over story in most cases, so I give the slight edge to XD)

    I really enjoyed the XD =)
    I believe XD is inferior to Colosseum in terms of storyline but still very good game =)
    You cannot customize your looks (that's only in X&Y, or not?)
    It's more customizable in terms of your pokemon party than Colosseum but you don't get legendaries until the last battle unlike Colosseum which allowed you to have legendary beasts.
     
    XD was good fun. Double Battles the sequel, complete with stealing snagging Pokemon. Longer and with more side stuff to do too in the story than Colosseum too, at the price with maybe a worse storyline (but not too much if so, imo), and a less interesting protagonist.

    But you can rebattle Miror B a lot throughout and he has awesome disco music too so that's worth something.
