I've just bought Gale of Darkness and Coliseum

...but haven't got the time to play at the moment.

What have I got to look forward to?

How do these games interact with the GBA titles?

How will this help progress my DS National Dex?

Anything else I should know before I get started?

I know absolutely nothing about either game.
Q1A Every battle being a doubles, stealing Pkmn (though only the shadow ones >_>) and probably some other stuff..though its been awhile since I played Gale of Darkness.

Q2A you can battle/trade with them providing you have the right linkcable and a GBA

Q3A Yes, definitely.

Q4A Not really, just don't expect to collect gym badges...

there my two cents in answering...but keep in mind I only have played and own Gale Of Darkness ^_^;; but all in all it was a fun play (especially since you get to begin with your choice Eevee evo)

In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Shadow Pokémon you purify could have moves they otherwise couldn't have. Togepi with Tri Attack, for example.

By trading, mainly.

You'll get Ho-Oh and Lugia this way. The only other way to get them on your own is that event for the trip to Navel Rock, I think.

Watch carefully how each Shadow Pokémon responds to a purification method, bar the Purify Chamber in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Eventually, you'll get to see the Pokémon's true Nature, and this will help you see how to purify it more quickly. Also, Shadow-Type attacks aren't very effective against other Shadow Pokémon, but are super effective against non-Shadow Pokémon.

I know absolutely nothing about either game.

Both games are awesome, so don't wait to play them.
