Then I've seen even fewer Funi dubs, I shall now hold my opinion untill i see a few more.....and that'll probably be a while.

Edit-

Any of you planning to watch Kodomo no Michael Jordan? For better or worse i just watched episode 1 and it was ok.

Ro-Kyu-Bu looks like it's absolutely not for me. Just another show in the all-too-prevalent moe girls + gimmick genre. I'm absolutely baffled that Sentai Filmworks licensed this before it even aired.

Summer's going to be pretty empty for me. I'm only watching five shows or so and I'm bound to drop at least a couple of those. The line-up is seriously 80% moe this season. Hopefully Sacred Seven is manly enough to counteract all of them.

The bad thing is I was more impressed with that than I was with Blood-C, will probably change as the weeks go by but yeah, surprisingly ok start.

Only other new show I tried was my replacement for Gosick, interesting first case for our Dr Pepper drinking NEET.

Too many fanservice anime this season. I think I'll just watch KaminoMemochou and Baka Test.

Really? I'm counting about 3 in the definite fanservice, and maybe 12 in the possible, which is mostly coming from selecting most of the comedy anime, and anime with female-only or mostly-female cast (BakaTest included)

As far as sacred seven goes....I'll see. Right now it's looking really generic. I'll see how it goes on, but right now, Tiger & Bunny is my action show of choice.

My opinions on the Summer 2011 season, show by show:

Edit: ugh it got resized, thanks for nothing tinypic. I'll try and find an image host that doesn't do this.

Natsume Yuujinchou isn't yaoi, though it is shoujo. That character pictured (Natsume) there is pretty much the only character, since there are nearly no recurring characters. Main problem is it's the third season that's airing this season.

I know it's not yaoi (I actually wrote "yaoi bait" :p), the super-bishounen character designs were just too much for me to handle after the first couple of episodes of the first season. I hear a lot of praise for it from people who've seen more of the show, but the prettyness of it all is a hurdle I don't think I can make it over.

Tried Blade, suffers from crappy budget but a tragic hero out for revenge is really not Nippon enough for you?

Penguindrum is probably the hardest to call, director is awesome so my hopes are set high.

Noticed that, was trying to get the "yaoi" keyword out of peoples' heads for the sake of not being misunderstood (I like the show after all :p). Would have used the word "Bishounen" here, which you used for Boy Band the anime interestingly enough XD Nice what you did with the picture though XD

I liked both of those, it might be rare but I actually loved Touma's speeches and general cheesy moments. Amusing.

Not sure what I'm going to watch today, maybe I'll finally get to ef - a tale of melodies or Kare Kano as I feel like something nice. *Will probably end up watching Star Driver*

So for right now I'm getting into 'Tales of' anime. Anyone like any of them in particular? Currently I'm watching ToP (Tales of Phantasia), then I'm going to work my way up from oldest to newest.

I haven't seen any of those, don't even have a clue what they're about but I'd guess fantasy?

Also do any of you know if Uta no Prince-sama is getting subbed by anyone, looks pretty fabulous to me.

Thanks. :D

Anyway at least i'll get to see it sometime, nothing has managed to replace star driver and the screenshots i've seen on /a/ make me think that might have what it takes. *glitters*

Edit - Princesama confirmed for awesome.

Yes, along with Penguindrop and Blood-C that was my most anticipated summer show. As a massive fan of the manga I was a bit worried on how the producers would handle it but they got it bang on imo. Great music, lovely colour pallet and a top choice in the voice talent department. Since it's only an 11 episode series I really do hope they pick the chapters they animate well, if they do this could very well end up a favourite anime as well as my manga series.

You guys and your silly nicknames for your animu.

Well, this season, I'm going to be watching a crapload of anime, or at least getting them and saving them for later, so here's my list, which is growing:

Nyanpire (Little short anime which my sister wanted to watch, so I was like 'What the heck, I'll watch it as well)
Sacred Seven (Reminds me of Gundam and Code Geass)
iDOLM@STER (Idk why I'm even watching this...)
Blood-C
No. 6
Mayo Chiki! (Butler)
Double-J
Uta No Prince Sama (I have no idea, I just wanted to check out this seasons Shoujo anime)
Usagi Drop (It's a rabbit :3)

Anyone watching any of these?
