Many of those supposed similarities between Madoka Magica and the DCU are actually quite dubious if you analyze them beyond mere colour schemes. Last I checked, Mami and Kyoko were never real antagonists like Sinestro and Atrocitus, the dynamics of Homura's relationship with Madoka differ significantly from those of Carol's relationship with Hal, Sayaka gave in to despair while Saint Walker never lost hope, the Guardians were never as actively dickish as Kyuubee was, and using a power ring without recharging it doesn't turn the wielder into an eldritch abomination. Then again, I don't really know that much about the DCU, so I could just as easily be completely off base.
 
It was a drunken crack theory, and a joke, so yeah.

Also, I'm laughing hard at the comparison between Kyoko and Atrocitus.

Kyoko is really angry.

I haven't even heard of any of these characters you're comparing too, guess I really should pick up a Western comic every now and again.

I think you missed a line. (and there actually is a difference between Sayaka's and Walker's entries)

Though move all Mahou Shoujo onto the same side, make a common enemy, and you get Blackest Night (I still need to get that, actually >>). Not that big into the DC Universe either, though I'm pretty sure our anime club's vice president has more a specialization in comic books, so I generally take most of this accurate with drunkard wavering of course.

Hmmm, it was really just my stupid fault for not checking the torrent properly. :L

Anyway, onto watching 9001 episodes of Gintama instead.
 
Wow, I wouldn't have the patience to download each frame, not even for a show I really like...
