Actually, the anime is up to the beginning of the Fullbring arc. >.< So if they're putting fillers in, it won't make a whole lot of plot sense (unless they jump back in time again).

Ya, I would say rebuilding of Soul Society/Generic Shounen "We do anything" business sounds good for that.

Gah, Dantalian no Shoka comes out for the summer season. Such a long wait ><

One Piece can have plenty of places for filler. As long as it's after the Strawhats set off from Canon Island X but before they get to Canon Island Y. Although, that last filler arc stopped the canon plot dead in its tracks, jumped back in time about 30 episodes and then jumped forward when it was done, which must've been disorienting. :U

In partially related news, I watched a fight between Ichigo and Aizen (From episodes 308 and 309 if a random YouTube stranger is to be trusted). From what I've been told, Aizen is the Big Bad and Ichigo is The Hero. I was sort of enjoying myself the first few minutes of it but then...

I got bored. I watched the whole fight but it was so slow and dull. I'm really hoping that wasn't the best fight in the whole series. :U

Bleach is a series that I go in and out of. Right now I'm out of it because I'm having other things to watch.

Usually I just catch random episodes on Adult Swim and mindlessly watch the action.

If there's no figs or any sort of merchandise afaik for Madoka aside from CDs and DVDs, how can it be a cash cow?

Last season's extremely annoying fanbase was Panty and Stocking. This season's is Madoka. I get it. Your show is so EDGY and DIFFERENT. Those plot twists were so UNEXPECTED. Kyuubey is EVIL.

I thought this seasons worst fanbase was that of Fractale, no it is not groundbreaking in anyway and no Yutaka Yamamoto is not "saving anime".

Anyway, i watched over 9000 anime in the past day and a half due to having no internet. :(

Lain = awesome
Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu = even more awesome
Air movie = better than series

My internet starts working again....but my laptop charger breaks, used my last hour of lappy usage to download and watch Madoka. :L

Wait. In addition to the fights being bland, repetitive, 'My sword hits your sword followed by special attack spam'-offs, the plot is a rollercoaster of ascending and descending interest?

The fights in Bleach got very average after Ichigo V Kuchiki at the end of the rescue arc, after that ther've only been a couple that get anywhere close.



That's an amv of the fight as it's over about 900 episodes in the show but it was very good. The Aizen fight should have been the best but it really wasn't.

This image is a good way to show the Plot, i can't vouce for O P as i'm only 40 chapters in but it's right about Bleach and Naruto.

little bias >> they effectively take 2chan posts, take their speculation as fact, choose some responses that support the statement, add some lines or two that mentions something about someone hating otaku/weeaboos, possibly some stuff about how they hate foreigners, and make an article off that.

Not to say they don't actually report what happens, if you look closely at the article, you'll see this:

Sadly for detractors, the BPO is run by the broadcasters and very rarely if ever does anything about the crazy complaints it receives.

It is also not unlikely that most of the "complaints" the organisation received came from the denizens of this same thread…

So the stuff is there, it's that most people don't read the entire article, or see the headline and rage from that. I think there was an incident some time ago about a different one, but nothing happened there either. Usually if I see something on sankaku that perks my interest, I tend to do research on it myself.

I see it more as an anime tabloid site than anything tbh. Most the articles there are: This person got arrested for this reason, Top 10 lists from surveys, Otaku celebrate target anime character's birthday, Controversy on certain anime issues (usually those that go "omg anime industry's going down"), Cosplay gallery, Artist gallery

News-wise I usually pay more attention to the Animeblogger Antenna, Animesuki Liscense Database, ANN, Japanator, and Moetron.

That does sum One Piece up well. Plot goes everywhere. However, if you stop to look at the image, you'll see it's not that complex. They all go somewhere. Also, if those lines represent sub-plots, the fact that some go nowhere is not an anachronism. They're simply guns Oda is leaving on the wall for future use. If there's one storytelling trope Oda uses the most, it would be Chekhov's Gun. Most of the time you don't even notice their guns until they're being used. That's the closest thing to a complaint I have with the way Oda tells stories. He abuses Chekhov's Gun. Because, as the old saying goes, 'ODA NEVER FORGETS'.

Also, that fight was better, in AMV format anyway, but I'm still not getting a uniqueness factor. I saw some of the fight in non-AMV format and it still never had that 'THIS IS THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN OF ULTIMATE DESTINY' it had. When the hero goes up against the final villain, the manga-ka should throw as many ideas at it as possible. Death lasers do not count (although, they did look pretty).
