So I've been eyeing up JPAN's hacked engine for quite a while, and whilst I understand most of the things I'm trying to do... I find the documentation doesn't fill in the bits I don't actually understand :P.

So, say I want to add new OWs, with new Palettes.

To add new palettes I need to expand the table, keeping the 'end reading' bytes intact, with a pointer and a palette number. But how do I actually use that palette? Which tools will allow me to preview it on an OW? I know how to change the palette of a sprite using hex, but NSE Classic won't recognise any additional palettes I add (also don't see/know how to edit it's ini either) which makes spriting and adjusting sprites a hell of a lot more difficult.

    What step am I missing?

Have you read through this tutorial? It explains it rather well, in my opinion. I think the only way to tell if the palette works is to test it in-game, though, and I think only certain over world editing tools support them too (i.e., Overworld Editor Rebirth Edition, but not NSE).

I had not, but that's very helpful, thanks!

No idea why I even have NSE Classic, I always used to use OW:Rebirth but I must have just blanked.

I'll try using the method now ^_^.

Huzzah! After fighting with the sprite offset for a while I can confirm that this method works :) now to expand my table out and get inserting those new sprites~

    Thanks a tonne.
