    I had no clue where to put this, so I decided to make a new thread?
    Mods - Can you please keep this open until I get my answers?

    Questions:

    What is easier? A hack or a Game?

    What is funner? A hack or a Game?

    What programs are used to make one of these games?

    Can you provide a link to all the stuff needed to create a new pokemon game?

    I might have more questions later, your answers would be greatly appreciated.
     
    With my experience I would say it depends on you and what you feel is easier.
    If you're willing to learn how to script in hacks then go into the path of hacking,
    although I have tried both and found that the starter kit in RMXP is easier to use
    as you don't have to have much scripting knowledge.
     
    Yeah, I don't have that much knowledge.
    I just started a little with XSE.
    But, i'll get the hang of it.

    Can you please give me a link to everything you need to create a new pokemon game?
     
    My personal experience says that Game Making is easier then Hacking. Hacking has a lot of limitations to what you can do, and for me those limitations can be pretty annoying and result in a greater loss of interest as it can be hard at times. Granted, learning al of the aspects of ROM hacking is easier then learning all of the aspects of making a game, a good example is scripting.

    All you need for making a game is RMXP (I won't link to it as there are many ways to get it, I would personally recommend buying a legitimate copy but do what you will.

    and Pokemon Essentials, or if you can understand french I would say use PSP (Pokemon Scripting Project)

    Now, what program do I use with it?

    Like said, try googling it. And its not free. There a short trial I believe but after that its like 60 dollars or something like that for unlimited.

    Alright, sorry everyone, but it looks like i'm not making a game. 60 dollars is alot of money for just a little computer software. Sorry.

    It's the internet, a place where illegally obtaining software is only a keygen away. o.o
    (Not saying I used a keygen...But not saying I didn't use one either...:paranoid:)
     
    You can rob a bank and use that money to buy it. Or just get a job(If you don't already have one) Its not the best thing you can spend your money on but it's worth it.
    Other options are to use the Postality Knights Edition which isn't the best option. I tried it once because I didnt want to hand over $60. Parts of it were in Japanese(Which i cant read) and a few things were mixed around and confusing. Not that many though. But its free :)
    You can get a keygen and your good to go.....until the cops come knocking at your door.

    Keygens aren't illegal to have, I think, but they are illegal to use.

    The best option is to buy it.
     
    One more question, is there any game making software that is free and unlimited?
     
    Have you even read the rules? It has links to several game makers in the panel on the right. RMXP is the only program with a starter kit available at the moment; if you choose something else, you'll have a lot more work to do. I believe there's a starter kit being worked on for Sphere, though.
