About 5 minutes ago, my mother purchased a Pokemon Red game on ebay for £8.99.
    Free postage too.
Good deal, but will it be fake?
From what I've heard, about 90% of GB/GBC/GBA games on ebay don't work.
The person selling sold games, and had 100% positive feedback.
Do you think it wil be fake or not?

Answer the poll and post why yes/no.

    anyone?
    remember to post why!

If there were any pictures, you should have checked if there was a Nintendo Sign of Quality. If there was one, it's probably real. Otherwise, there's no way to know until you try the game.

I'm pretty sure it would work if it had 100% feedback.
I couldn't think why somebody would want to sell a fake Pokémon Red.

Lots of people would say just to play a ROM of it, but nothing beats holding the actual things in your hand, and playing it on an actual console, so I must first say "kudos to you for buying the real thing".

Next with a seller with 100% feedback it is unlikely it is fake or dead. Plus it is generally the generation II games that break down because the battery is drained quicker because of the clock, but the original games don't have to drain the battery quicker because a clock is absent, so I wouldn't be surprised if the games lasts thirty years past their original release date, 1998, if they experienced normal gameplay. Following that logic the original games will probably last until about 2030. Pretty sweet, huh.

For some time now I had been thinking about getting an older gen game.
I've played HGSS so not GS.
    I'm currently playing through Sapphire.
    So that leaves RBY.
Yellow, I don't like due to the fact that you only get pikachu.
    Blue.
    Nah, I want red.
    So I did.

I'm gonna say no, just because the seller doesn have 100% feedback rating. Sellers tend to get negative feedback when they sell fake or non-working games.

Also, Kudos on getting the real thing. I wound up getting Crystal on a Rom for the nostalgic feeling and then went and decided to get Red as well (on a rom though.) My first time playing through, lol.

    This.

    And also this.

£8.99 isn't a bad price for getting an original, working Red Version but was it the cheapest price available? I'd have thought you'd have been able to get it for like, pennies now...

This seems more like a discussion rather than an actual worry that your game might be fake. Until you actually have pictures where we can really determine if your game is fake or not, I'm gonna have to close this.

    Locked.
