[Questions] Just learning I hope

    Hi guys I just joint the site to try to learn about the cards, my 6 year old grandson is trying to get into the trading game and doesn't know much about it but is learning. I just want to help him so am looking for all info you can supply and where to find it. I bought him some cards some I believe are fake but not sure how to tell for sure. Any info would be great thanks. Posted this in the into section did get some comments but thought I may get more help here. As mentioned before my Grandson is 6 years old knows more than me about this so I am just trying to learn a bit to help him. All he has been doing is taking the cards I have bought on line and trading them for fun. I am buying a few for him but I don't know how to tell if they are good or bad or fake, I did some reading and did pick up some tips on telling the difference but I am guessing most times. Here is an example of one he brought home today Spanish a gold Pikachu I believe is fake. It does scan on an on line scanner I downloaded. Thanks PS hope I am in the right place to ask this

    There are only three official golden Pikachu TCG cards to my knowledge, and this isn't one of them. The fonts for the name and attacks are also too light.

    Be sure to look out for cards with multiple typos, Energy icons highlighted from the right side, and/or blurry imagery. These are some of the most obvious signs of a fake card, but some fakes can be awfully convincing.

    Hi! Sorry I didn't realize you had already made a thread here!

    Yeah, unfortunately, that card is most definitely fake. But I highly doubt that'll matter to your grandson. It's still a good looking Pikachu card and I'll bet he can still play with it or trade it around on the playground. Looking forward to seeing the Charizard card you mentioned. :)
     
    thanks for the info guys where would I look to get more info on fake and real cards. PS He loves these gold cards and so do his friends he is having a blast trading but I don't have the heart to tell him they are fake.
     
    Hi! I'd like to follow this post if possible. I have also joined to learn so I can help my son start collecting and playing. I started him off with one of the small 25th celebrations packs and the battle academy board game to get the jist of things but honestly have no clue what I am doing!
