    Shopping Mall 9

Shopping Mall Nine, the giant department store located just west of Opelucid on, strangely, Route 9. It's got three floors featuring a wide selection of Stuff and Things that you may or may not want. Vitamins, healing items, Pokéballs, mail, battle items- though only two TMs for some reason.

    Driftveil Market (anime)

It's a cool place, but how does it compare to say, Driftveil Market and Pokémarts around the region? Do you find the selection to be significantly better than a regular Pokémart's? Would it have been better to instead put Mall-exclusive items into Driftveil Market or various Pokémarts and abolish the Mall? What do you think about the Mall being a bit isolated and not in a city- was that a good or bad move? How about its design? And what do you prefer for shopping- Mart, Mall, or Market?

Like Zayphora, I didn't use Shopping Mall Nine much; I simply went to the nearest Pokemon Center. IMO, it's pointless to put a shopping mall in a route that's right next to the city; you can just buy most of whatever you need in a Pokemon Center/Mart. I think they should've put Shopping Mall Nine right in Opelucid for that very reason.

The only items I need are potions, revives, Poké balls, and repels, and I can get those at the Pokémon Center.

I only used the mall for the TM's and to change Rotom forms.

I kind of forgot about Mall 9 to be honest! It's just... not a route I travel often enough in the games. And I remember being significantly underwhelmed by it when I went in (compared to Celadon, Goldenrod, Lilycove and Veilstone) as well. Everything I need to buy in the games can be bought in the Pokémon Centers.

I definitely think it would've benefited if it had some items exclusive to it / had more of a selection of TMs and things that can only be bought in a Department Store / Mall.

It looked kinda abandoned and out of place to me, really. :( If anything it looked like something was missing to give it that vibe the other pokemarts had. I liked that the name was based on the route but otherwise they could've easily thrown it into Castelia, though it was a bit early on in the game so it kinda makes sense as to where it's situated. Definitely needed more spark, though! WHERE ARE THE ELEVATORS? I use the marts mostly anyways, but the mall has been useful for protein etc, but otherwise it's just "there".

I never cared about Shopping Mall Nine. The only thing I used it for was to change my Rotom's form, maybe even buy a few items.
I do believe it held two very expensive TMs. Hyper Beam and...some other elemental beam. That reminds me...I need to go back and grab those since I'm trying to collect all of the TMs. I guess I better get myself on the Battle Subway someday so I can get those ones, too.

With that said, I do think all the TMs sold should have gone there. None of this Pokécenter "second counter that used to sell specialty balls and now doesn't" business. Also, adding certain kinds of Pokéballs not available at other shops; Luxury Balls, for instance, though they only increase friendliness. Perhaps even allow one, for an exorbitant amount of cash (maybe 500,000?), to buy another Master Ball (only available after obtaining the first, which means having all eight badges). Evolutionary stones are also an excellent thing to use it for; instead, we have to have a local friend who plays or we can never draw in the people to our Black City/White Forest to be able to buy them there...and mental note, do not buy your Lemonade in Black City...they rip you off...
