Eh, that japanese jibberish in my user title? Yeah. Thanks, but I removed it. There's enough of it in my sig's banner anyway.

A sudden flame attack fainted both the Pikachu and Charmander.
What the...? Max thought. Quickly returning Pidgey to his Pokeball, he slammed the first boy, and rushed through them.
Pewter City can't be too far..

Meanwhile, Tobias arrived at the burnt scene of the battle...

meh... Tobias thought to himself If he wants to head to pewter to take on Brock...with a pidgey...

Shaking his head, Tobias turned his abck on the two strangers (who were still awestruck) and began to head back to the group.

On his way out of the forest, a weedle dared to stick its head out from behind a tree. Without a secnd thought Tobias casually brought forth his pokeball and released his Vulpix. Whatever subtle gesture the pokemon read from its trainer, was enough to end the wild weedle with one ember attack. Calling back his pokemon, Tobias made a mental note to help Raoul...although it looked as though he was already well on his way to learning such techniques.

The sun had set by the time Tobias made it back to the group.
"Hey guys, Max has gone straight on to Pewter city. There's not much we can do. If he wants to go solo, let him..."
And with that Tobias began setting up for the night, on the outskirts of Pallet Town.

I walk around the town of pallet town learning my way around the city. After going around the city five times I walk back to the labratory and find tobias starting to put a tent up. I walk over and tap him on the shoulder. I motion to see if he wants any help. Not being noticed I set up my own tent and then walk back and ask again.

OOC: If you don't mind, I'll catch a Hoothoot.

--

My gosh, the forest doesn't look too good at night. Deadly. Just the way I like it. Max stared around the darkness. He was well on the way to Pewter City, but he was hangning around.
Meh, why is this tent thing too hard to set up? Max thought as he struggled with the thing. Then he suddenly heard a sound that made him tremble.
"HOOT!! HOOOOOT!!"
Max fell back, and noticed a dark figure of a bird Pokemon flying in the sky. He immediately sent out Pidgey to attack it.
"Pidgey go get that thing! Tackle now!" Pidgey acted on command and flew up as fast as it could and hit the bird.
"Hoo!!" The bird tried an attack with its beaks. Pidgey got hit and enraged, hit the bird with a gust. The bird fell to the ground, and Max had an idea.
I'll.. capture this... He grabbed a Pokeball from his backpack and threw it at the bird. The ball shook for a while in the dark, and was still. Pidgey flew down and perched on Max's shoulder.
"Good job Pidgey." Max smiled at it, and returned it into the Pokeball. He was too scared to check on the scary Pokemon at night, so he decided to turn in and check on it first thing next morning.

OoC: I do mind actually, sorry but like I've said from the beginning, this is the Kanto region. If this RP survives, then we'll movie onto Johto, were you are more then welcome to catch a Hoothoot.

IC: "Hi Raoul...You want to help me set up my tent?"
This was a kind offer, and although Tobias didn't need any help, he thought he would let Raoul in anyway.
"Sure you can help, you just grab that pole."

Before he knew it the tent was up, and he was ssaying goodnight to the others. Crawling into his tent, which had been his home for quite some time now, Tobias began to think.
I seem to be taking control over the others...I wonder if they really know what's going on...I don't want to be too bossy...What's wrong with me...

Night had fallen, and the glow of the moon revealed a silhouette moving towards the south bank of Pallet Town.
If they want to follow me, they can...but this is my journey now

OOC: Meh... unfair really. Can't I make it an abandoned Pokemon by some other foreign trainer from Johto? Say yes or no quickly, so I can decide wether the Hoothoot turns out to be a Spearow. =P By the way Toby, see my RP ID in my sig?

--

Morning came up, and Max woke up all live and fresh. Packing the tent up he looked around the forest.
That was one really scary Pokemon last night.. I'm even scared to open up the Pokeball to check it out now. Maybe I'll check it out at the Pokemon Center in Pewter City. Hey wait... Max thought, and spotted a green caterpillar. His hands dug into his backpack to pull out the red console.
"Caterpie, the caterpillar Pokemon." Max read aloud. "Its mine." He said softly. "PIDGEY GO! GUST ATTACK!!"
Pidgey flew out, and attacked the Caterpie. It reacted with a Tackle, but it took heavy damage.
"Sand attack, Pidgey!" Pidgey flew lower to the ground and blew winds hard into the caterpillar, who used String Shot on Pidgey.
"Heh, Pidgey return!" Calling Pidgey back, Max threw a Pokeball. "GO!"
The Pokeball shook for a few seconds, then lay still.
"Whee.. I caught it." Max said quietly. He called out the Caterpie and healed it with a Potion.
"C'mon then Caterpie, its time to train you into a stronger fighter!"

I help Tobias set his tent up and before we know it is set up. I walk through the bushes and collect some kindling wood and find a few logs. I walk back to the camp and release charmander and point at the wood. He puts his tail flame to it and a few minutes later we have a fire going. I return charmander to his pokeball and pull a small bag of marshmallows from my bag. i wave the bag around and make sure every one sees it. I take a few metal skewers out of my bag and put a marshmellow on and start roasting it.

Max trained Caterpie all day long. He looked up a few Rock type Pokemon on his Pokedex, they were all stronger against Flying type Pokemon.
I'm sure if I can evolve Caterpie into a Metapod, its defense will help just fine. Just gotta train it to move around then... Max thought. Level 6 huh? One more level to go til Caterpie evolves..
"THERE'S A PIKACHU!! OMIGOSH!!" Max saw one. He knew there were Pikachu in the Viridian Forest, but they were very rare. He could not give this one up.
"GO FOR IT CATERPIE!" Caterpie acted on its training and hit the Pikachu with String Shot. The slow Pikachu sent a Thundershock at Caterpie.
"Caterpie! Tackle it quickly!" Caterpie took damage from the Thundershock, but then hit the Pikachu with a Tackle.
"Nice! Now, POKEBALL, GO!" Max sent the Pokeball, and with his streak of catching Pokemon at the first try of throwing the ball, caught the Pikachu.
And then... Caterpie began to glow...
Omigosh...

OoC: I have to say it's a Spearow, sorry.

IC: As the sun rose, Tobias was already into packing up his gear. He ahd spent too much time trying to lead others, when they never really needed it. By the time he was done, some of the others had risen.

"Listen guys...i'm not really used to travelling with people...and something's telling me to get a move on with my journey...if you want you can follow me...but i'm leaving now."

And he began his long journey through route one...

OOC: Meh, one EVIL dude, that's you. =P At least I have more Pokemon than all of ya'll right now. Heh heh...

--

Sweet! Its a Metapod!! And I have a Pikachu, and a Pidgey. Two of them are no good against Rock Pokemon in battle, hopefully the other one will be good against Rock Pokemon too. Max thought as he picked up Pikachu's Pokeball, and picking up Metapod.
"WHEW, you're heavier now Metapod!" Max carried the green shelled Pokemon along the forest path. He battled every wild Pokemon he saw. Soon, Metapod was able to move its heavy shell quite fast, and do a quite decent amount of damage in battle.
Yup. Metapod will do fine... I'd better train it a little more.
And so Max kept training Metapod til it began to glow once again, and he quickly stopped it from evolving. He did this for around five to six hours, and Metapod looked extremely strong for something shelled up in a cocoon.
"Now then, we're off to Pewter City." Max said, returning the Metapod to the Pokeball. "Get your rest Metapod, we've got a big battle for tomorrow."
And with that, Max headed out through the forest, and towards the Pewter City Pokemon Center.

OOC: I'm gonna have Alana break off from the rest of the group for a while and meet back up In Pewter City.

Alana finished packing up her things as Tobias set off. She watched him, unsure wether to follow or not. She was starting her journey too and why should she not go on her own? They'd probably meet up again anyway. With the gyms being closed it wouldn't be long. Any gym that opened would have a flock of trainers at it at once. She sighed and slung her back pack over her back. Sher raised a hand in farewell to the others then headed off in a different direction.

Tobias, having already trecked halfway through Viridain forest, was confident in his approach. The sun ahd only just risen and he hadnt seen any other pokemon trainers around. With no one to talk to, he turned his thoughts inward.

If the first gym is Pewter city...that's Brock...he has rock type pokemon...I better start training up my Vulpix

With his mind set on a goal the time began to fly by. One after the other, Caterpies and Weedles, and the occasional Metapod and Kakuna, fell to Tobias' Vulpix with it's powerful ember attack. Just as Tobias was about to take a break, a small yellow mouse Pokemon emerged from the bushes. Knowing it as the electric pokemon Pikachu, Tobias jumped back into it. Releasing his Vulpix, the Pikachu stopped still. With a subconscious movement, Tobias commanded his Vulpix to attack the wild Pokemon. Vulpix lept forward with an ember attack. The Pikachu countered with a thundershock which caught the Vulpix off guard. Regaining it's balance, Tobias' pokemon gained speed to quick attack the Pikachu. The stunned Pikachu was left on the ground. Without hesitation, Tobias reached for a pokeball and launched it at the wild pokemon. In a flash the pokemon was stored inside the pokeball, which lay still on the grassy forest floor. Tobias had captured his first pokemon.

I wake up and stretch and get dressed then climb out of my tent. Looking around I see every ones gone. I quickly pack up my tent and walk into grass. I train my charmander and then run to the forest. I start training charmander and during training I catch a caterpie and a pidgey. After lots of training of what seems like hours charmander starts glowing. i stop him from evolving and return him to his pokeball. I release caterpie and start training it against other caterpie and weedle. After another few hours of rigorous training I have a butterfree with confusion. I return him to his pokeball and move on to training my pidgey. Another two hours and tough training. I return pidgey to her pokeball and see Tobias and collapse from exhaustion from training my pokemon and training my self. I had not only trained my pokemon in battle but trained them to understand me with different signals. I release charmander and point at Tobias. Charmander goes up behind him and says his name. ?charmander! char!?. I lie down on the dirt path and close my eyes.

OOC: Now that's a lot of training NO new trainers would do. =P

Pewter City, finally I get to see the scary Pokemon. Max released the Pokeball containing the Pokemon. He had healed his Pokemon and was ready for battle.
"CRWA CRWA!!" A SPEAROW! One of the most fiercesome Pokemon ever, and I've accidentally caught one.
But the Spearow obeyed him perfectly when he told it to perch on his shoulder.
Nice, well, the Pokemon mart it is. Max headed to the mart, where he bought a few Potions and an Awakening. And with the supplies, he headed to the Pewter City gym.

A charmander? Tobias thought, before realising who the pokemon belonged to. Following the Cahrmander through the forest, he reached a boy lying on the ground, almost asleep.
"Raoul?" The boy stirred. "How are you? I see you've been training your pokemon. Have you caught any new ones?"
The boy released a Butterfree and a Pidgey.
"That's pretty good. Are they learning your signals?" Tobias watched as the boy made several motions with his hands, and his Pokemon (almost mimicking the movements) attacked.
Tobias released his two pokemon, Vulpix and Pikachu. With much simpler and smaller gestures his pokemon also attacked thin air. The younger boy looked on in awe.
"If you want, I can teach you how to simplify you're signals. They are a bit too big, and take some time to get your mesage across to your pokemon. Plus any trainers will eb able to see what you want to happen, and they will be able to counter it easily."

For some time Tobias taught Raoul how to use smaller gestures to convey meaning. After a while he felt happy with what he had taught his new student. In fact, the time had come for him to move on. The training he had done with Raoul involved a lot of battling wild pokemon. So much that his own pokemon had grown a lot. His Pikachu had grown to like him, and worked well with vulpix.
After saying farewell to Raoul, Tobias continued through the forest. Suddenly, a wild beedril flew through the trees for him. He grabbed a pokeball and called forth Pikachu. His electric attacxks will be quite effective against a flying pokemon... Tobias thought. Subtely he commanded Pikachu to use thunderbolt, which only managed to enrage the flying pokemon further. When Tobias once more called for his Pikachu to attack, it began to glow slightly, launching stars at the enemy. This new move, Swift, as Tobias identified it to be, always hit the wild beedril, and before long it fled back into the forest.
Tobias congratulated his Pikachu, on learning a new move, one that would definitely aid in his battle against Brock.

OOC: Oooh, Toby says we can't Gym Battle. =P And now this is my chance to train my Pokemon.

--

Just one street away from the Gym, Max had a bright idea. A really bright idea. He began to rush back to the entrance to Pewter City, and into the grassy area he went. The first Pokemon he saw was a male Nidoran, nibbling on a nut.
"Found one. Pikachu, lets play!" Max released his Pokemon. "How about we try one of those things that Charmander and its trainer was using! Guess the order!!"
Max threw one finger ahead into a point at the Nidoran. Pikachu stared at its trainer, then used Tackle.
"Awh, not what I had in mind! What's the first move in your movesets?" Pikachu got it now, but was hit with another tackle from the Nidoran. Pikachu threw a Thundershock at the Nidoran.
"YOU'VE GOT IT! NOW LETS GET IT!" Max threw a Pokeball at the Nidoran, and captured it.
"Good job Pikachu, now, all of you COME ON OUT!" Max released all his Pokemon. "Now, I've just taught Pikachu to use sign language. You know all the moves you know.. wait, that doesn't make sense. Well, you know your movesets. When I point my first finger at an opponent, you can use your first move in the set. When I point two fingers, you use the second move, and so on. You'll get it soon, we'll still have to keep training."
All of Max's Pokemon cheered, and they gathered around Max.
"Ya'll know what time it is no matter what, its dinner time. Lets set up eat first, then we get to training aright?"

After the lunch, Max and the Pokemon set to training really hard. Max had a tough time trying to get his Pokemon understand the orders he gave with his finger, so he'd go "Thundershock!" and point the correct finger at the same time. Soon, Pikachu learnt the Swift attack, Pidgey evolved into a Pidgeotto, Max let Metapod evolve into a Butterfree, and an excessively trained Nidoran evolved to a Nidorino. The only Pokemon who refused most commands and had a hard time paying attention was Spearow..
My god, this has been a LOT of work. Night had fallen, and Max used Pikachu letting out sparks once in a while for light. All the other Pokemon were in their Pokeballs, and Max headed back to the Pokemon Center.

At the Pokemon Center, Max got the Pokemon healed, and he booted up the Trainers PC there.
"Ah, you're Max, right? How are you doing?"
"Just fine Professor Oak. Look, I wanted to know if I could store my Pokemon on the PCs? Which domain do I use?" Max asked Professor Oak on the computer.
"Bill's storing some, try his storage system." Professor Oak said. "How's your Pokedex by the way?"
"No idea, I'll let you know later. Thanks Professor. And remember I'll kill you for NOT giving me a Dratini." Max said.
"Yes yes, do that. ...WHAT?"
Max cut the line off, and accessed Bill's PC. He stored Spearow in it, knowing it won't be too good in battle and there was no use hurting it.
"Have fun Spearow, I'm sure the PC managers will take good care of you."

OoC: If your willing to put in the hours, then so am I ;) (figuratively speaking that is, if thats even the right word...i mean fake, in-the-roleplay hours...oh well)

IC:
After a short lunch break, making sure his Pokemon were well fed, Tobias decided it was time to increase their training. He released both his Vulpix, a fierce fighter, and his Pikachu, a cunning opponent, and began to romp through the forest making as much noise as possible. Scaring out Weedles and Caterpies, Vulpix and Pikachu had a great time. Vulpix was mostly using quick attack, and so was Pikachu.
When Tobias stumbled across a tree of Kakuna, it didn't occur to him to hold back. He sent his pokemon after the kakuna, after all they were just having some fun. What he didn't expect was for all of the Kakuna to evolve into Beedrils! Suddenly all of the fun was out of the battle. Tobias had to think strategically. There were lots of Beedril, but they were flying pokemon, so he commanded Pikachu to use thunderbolt and then swift. Vulpix used quick attack followed by ember. With the combined force of two pokemon and four attacks, the Beedril were quickly defeated.

After another hour of seriously training his Pokemon, his Vulpix had managed to learn a new move, Roar, and his Pikachu had learnt Slam. By now it was eding towards late afternoon, and with his two Pokemon, Tobias headed for Pewter City. As he left Viridian Forest, Tobias followed the path into Pewter City. First he would have to heal his pokemon.

As he entered the Pokemon Centre, he spotted Max by the pc.
"Hey Max" he called, as he left his pokemon with the nurse. "How are you? Been training long?" he asked, striking up conversation

OOC: Lets battle Toby!

--

Max heard someone call his name, and he turned around.
"Hey, Toby. How's it going? Its fine with me, and yeah. Training's been really fun. I wanted to get into a few battles earlier at the gym, but I think I need more training. What do you say?" Max said quietly.
"I say we battle." Toby said, grabbing a Pokeball.
"Go easy on me then, lets go outside then." Max said.
