Kingdom Hearts Thread

I bet people said the same thing about Final Fantasy back when it jumped ship to Playstation from Nintendo's consoles. People WERE saying the same thing about Final Fantasy up until the other month when XIII was announced for 360. I'm just saying that Square-Enix has been showing a lot of love to Microsoft lately, so don't discount KH3 on the 360. :x

(I will admit I'd rather see it on PS3 but I'd take 360 over Wii anyday.)

But if they make it for Microsoft, They better not Ruin it like Microsoft ruin Bomberman(Which sucks on ice)

I don't think MS would really have a say anyway. It'd still be Square-Enix and Disney's game. Just like the 360 version of XIII will pretty much be identical to the PS3 version, they wouldn't drastically change the series unless SE was intending on it in the first place.

Well KHIII hasnt been Announced yet, and We still have to get the 3 new games. and yah. SO i doubt they started to make KHIII already. So its gonna be a while, so Wel will see.

If they do make a KH 3 i could see it for PS3 because i mean BBS for PSP and KH 1 and 2 for PS2 it would kind of keep the cycle going. As for Nintendo i guess they figured they wanted to try a different approach to the series so they are trying the DS. Who knows perhaps if succesful we might just see a KH spinoff for Wii.

Also i heard of one for the cell phone as well, I think that is KH Coded so who knows what could happen...

Thats what I am Saying. Playstation and Nintendo is where Square-Enix makes good games.

The Star Ocean series has always been on Playstation. They remade the first two games for PSP. So where's the logical place for the upcoming sequel, Star Ocean 4? Well, it's gotta be the 360, because that's where it's going.

Just because a game thrived on a certain console last gen means nothing this gen. Square-Enix is free to choose the place they want the game and, to be honest, it won't feel any different on PS3 or 360. Just with one, you'll have to get used to a slightly different control scheme (in the sense that the buttons are called different things, really). I mean, I think I'd prefer it on PS3 as well but I'm not gonna discount the 360 right away. Especially if the only reason for doing so is that KH has only been on Sony or Nintendo consoles before--that'd be because MS only has Xbox and the Xbox 360 and the former was basically non-existent in Japan. But the 360 is getting a LOT of attention as far as JRPGs go lately (it's got a better selection than PS3 right now, to be honest) so... don't count it out just yet.

We probably won't have an announcement on KH3 for a while anyway. I'm pretty sure the KH team is working on FFXIII Versus so they won't start production until that's finished, which won't be for a while.

Wouldnt Sell as well. Cuz its the NA version of Kingdom Hearts II, just added stuff. So yah.

...I assume he means how KH2 ended with a cliffhanger? Sora gets the letter from Mickey and we don't get to see what it says. :[

Untrue.
Sora's Story DOES and i mean DOES contunie, Why? Cause that letter(Unknown of what it says) and Testsuya Already stated in one of his interviews, he is letting sora take a break from adventures(he is refering to BBS, Coded, and 358/2 Days). This Interveiw was about the new games which they didnt know about at the time first thing he said its not called Kingdom Hearts III, But so I figured he is refering to BBS, Coded and 358/2 Days. But I pretty sure Kingdom Hearts III will have Sora again.

About the new KH title that will be announced after summer this year (2007), will that be a direct sequel?
Tetsuya Nomura: Hmm...I'm not sure how much I can say (laughs). I'll start of by saying that it's not Kingdom Hearts 3.

So this game will be a side story?
TN: That's right. My own feelings are that I would like to give Sora a break from large adventures for a little while. So I'm thinking of making the next game's story focus on other characters.

So by a little while, do you mean that Sora's journey from Kingdom Hearts 2 hasn't finished?
TN: Yes. If you're talking about the mysteries that started from Kingdom Hearts 1, then those were all revealed. In the ending of Kingdom Hearts II, there was a scene where Sora received a letter from the King; for Sora, I would like you to consider this as a new beginning. The truth is, until the very end, I was considering whether or not to include a scene showing them setting off on a journey after reading the letter.

So, let's talk about this new story, which doesn't have Sora as the main character. What sort of story will it be?
TN: Well, I need to start with the story depicted in a Birth by Sleep. Aside from that, there's the story of how the King found his keyblade in the world of darkness and other things like that. Myself, one of the things I most want to do is to give Roxas more of a role to play. I think it would be interesting to flesh out more of the year he spent between his birth and disappearance. Or making Riku the main character, and writing about his desperate fight while Sora was asleep, and things like that. You get the impression that Riku summoned Roxas to a place of shadows, and that Riku is a master of shadows, so I would like to give him more exploration in the game.

Will there be anything different in the game system?
TN: I'd like to try something a little different to the previous games in the KH series. I'm not just talking about the next game, more about the next project, so I can't say that it will just be one game (laughs). For the Kingdom Hearts series, being made with our company and Disney, both companies have things in mind that we would like to make reality, so there's always at least two things we want to do.

What platform does it look like the next game will be released on?
TN: Hmm... Probably a hand-held platform. Right now we're working on titles for the PSP (FFVII Crisis Core), Nintendo DS (This Wonderful World) and for mobile phones (MONOTONE), so I wouldn't be surprised if it were on any of those platforms.

Is there any chance that this game may be released on multiple platforms?
TN: We haven't considered that in the development. If possible, I would like to make a system that suits the platform. But in contrast, in terms of ideas, I would want ideas that could be released on any platform.

The more I hear about the next game, the more exciting it sounds, but for the fans the first thing to do is to see KH2 Final Mix's secret movie isn't it?
TN: Yes. I'm worried that we made the conditions for getting the secret movie too hard, but through reading this guide, I hope the readers will be able to see the secret movie. Finding a way to defeat (the new boss) is tough, but I've seen it done, so I know it's not impossible (laughs). If you're able to see the new secret movie and turn your thoughts to the next Kingdom Hearts, I'd be very happy.

Ah, that'd be the one I was thinking about. I'd forgotten it took place before announcements of BBS and whatnot. :O Darn, I was actually kinda looking forward to a new game with new characters in the main series. XD;

Yah a change wouldnt hurt, But I still think that Kingdom Hearts is there best with Sora, Riku and Kairi.

although the games are great with sora in it, i dont blame Nomura for taking sora out for a few games why:

Nomura introduced many new interesting characters like the Chasers and the 14th member, i would rather learn there back story than have another game with sora in it. ( Im not saying i hate sora but you know what i mean.) and besides he claims everyhing is tied to Sora in a way.

and how was KH2 a cliffhanger? Sora meets up with his long lost friend Riku, stops Xemnas, goes back to the islands with Riku and Kairi and lives happily ever after=D

as for the letter wasnt it just Mickey telling sora that the worlds are at peace or something like that? ( the answer is probably in the interview but i dont feel like reading >_>)

I'm just kind of interested to know how they'd justify a new keyblade master after Sora's time or something. :[ But I won't object to Sora either, I do like him~ I'm pretty content with the spin-offs, too. I'm so curious about 358/2--that 14th member interests me greatly even if I'm most excited that Marluxia's playable in multiplayer--I am going to kick ass with him 8DD--and in BBS, Ven has me so intrigued. :B

It would prolly say something about the letter in the first few Scenes of KHIII.
I want to know the past of Terra, Auqa and Ven, and I also want to know about the XIV Member as well. and I want to play as Zexion or Roxas. I dont care to much about Coded, But In The Japan website of Coded is online and Full now.

well now that we are no longer limited to one subject dont you find the XIV member's backstory more interesting then Terra Aqua and Ven's? Because think the Organization is called Organization Xlll yet 14 members? While we already somewhat know about the three chasers.... ( i actually also find Xehanort an interesting character i could care less about Roxas XD)

The Fourteenth Member has the same powers as Roxas.
