The ooc thread designed for the ooc chat of the Lancaster School of Battle RP. Anything yadda yadda about being in Lancaster and such. We'll talk about everything here so if you're in Lancaster and not subscribed, you'd better get on it.
The first mission's requirements are in my post of course. Sahri's members will be more clearly defined as we encounter them, i didn't think it necessary to specify their what types of fighters they are yet.
Umm... hi Kansas :D
I was wondering if I could still make an SU. It's fine if I can't, I just popped by and it caught my eye. If I did sign-up, I would probably be a Ninja... but that depends on if it's closed or not. I don't have as much to catch up on as PLF (that was a lot to read O.O)
Profession: Ninja Primary Weapon: Kai's weapon of choice is a long, smooth silver bladed ninja sword. The hilt is made of fine black leather for good grip and the blade is moulded into a zig-zag shape at the tip for maximum effect on impact.
Elemental Affinity: Wind/ Ice
Description: Kai has blood red hair which is cut to shoulder length and shapes her face rather neatly. It is layered so that it is longer at the front and shorter at the back which then means that the oversized bangs tend to obscure her emerald green eyes. She has a rather pale complexion, but not so much as it makes her look dead and she stands at a healthy 5'6 with a well built frame.
Her preferred choice of clothing consists of a white button up shirt which is then covered by a red hemmed, black waistcoat which fails to button up over her bosom, leaving to shop the shirts lapels and a blood red tie that matches her hair almost perfectly. Accompanying this abnormal attire are a pair of dark blue jeans which flare at the bottom to cover a pair of fashionable black vans with red laces. A black, silver buckled belt holds the rather baggy bottoms aloft around her narrow hips.
Although this is Kaida's preferred clothing she is intelligent enough to know that her training would not comply with this sort of attire and so she has come prepared and has packed a short sleeved, black crop top which fails to cover her midriff (which is pierced with a red ruby) and another pair of jeans, only these are three-quarter length instead of full length in order to allow more free movement. A pair of long fingerless gloves are also worn with this attire to ensure maximum grip on her weapons. Note that she still wears her trademark red tie with this attire also, unafraid that it automatically because a major disadvantage in battle if someone were looking to strangle her.
Atop these outfits Kaida also wears a pair of designer glasses, complete with black frame (when in training or battle she wears contact lenses). A multitude of silver hoops earrings pierces both ears and a loan ruby bauble is lodged within her tongue. Several black and red leather bracelets decorate both of her arms and a tribal tattoo runs up her back to the top of her neck.
Personality: Kai thinks herself rather talented in anything she does. Needless to say she does have a natural talent for reading people and is quite the whiz when it comes to computers, science and maths but she does tend to get hit down a peg or two when she is unsuccessful in something. Though she isn't pompous and stuck up, she does tend to look down on others when it comes to pure skill and determination because of her upbringing (which was rather competitive) and so she is not the best when it comes to making true friends. She fancies herself to be quite popular when it comes to gaining followers due to her charming yet rather sarcastic nature and since the beginning of her teens has always found herself quite lucky with boys, but has never had the patients to keep one because of her tendency to attract the less bright of the litter.
When working as a team, it is obvious that Kai likes to be the leader and nothing less. She disapproves of anyone else taking the lead and will happily fight for the honour if it ever came down to it, evidently Kai needs to be brought down a peg or two when it comes to working as team and needs to be brought up to speed that if you are not willing to work as a team on missions then it is almost guaranteed that mission will be a failure. Of course this will take some time as Kai is incredibly unwilling to back down in a fight and give up because of the natural competitive streak in her. Of course, when she does loose, she isn't the happiest of beings to be around and it is advised to all those in walking distance of her to leave the room and wait a few minutes before even attempting to re-enter. She does not take loosing lightly and she can bare a grudge against the person who caused it for a good while before putting it aside and taking up a new grudge.
All in all, Kai is quite charming and witty when it comes to dealing with both her enemies and her friends and is indeed sarcastic when she finds someone to be beneath her. She has a dry sense of humour and is indeed intelligent when it comes to her strategic methods and her obviously keen mind, but she needs to understand that her sarcastic and un-accepting nature is what causes the majority of missions to go wrong.
Techniques:
Shard Blizzard: Kai combines her knowledge of ice and wind to create shards of sharp ice which she then hurls through the air using her wind abilities to attack her enemies.
Ice substitution: Kai uses her normal and ice abilities to replace herself with a perfectly sculpted ice statue. (Note that the statues normally take a vulgar or embarrassing form to humiliate the enemy)
Frozen Cloud: Kai uses her ice abilities to send a freezing cloud of air towards her opponents. Depending on how much power Kai is willing to use or how much Chakra she had left, this can either shroud enemies in mist limiting they're sight or can even freeze a target.
Wind Blade: Using her wind abilities Kai concentrates her powers on creating a blade of impenetrable air to slice at the opponent.
History: Kai was brought up in a background where money was not an issue, it was due to this fact that Kai was quite popular in her younger days and has grown up to believe that all operations would fail without her. Being the only daughter her parents had, she was favoured the most (especially by her father) and her brothers, though looked after were never the centre of attention after she was born. Her brothers would constantly pick on her at home and in school and it was partially this that made Kai surround herself with fake friends and people who would protect her for the odd dollar here and there and though it is hard to believe there were kids that would constantly pick on her because of her need to wear glasses and her fondness of maths and science, but this only proved to harder the determined child even more and Kai grew to be a rather demanding and sarcastic person.
She was sent to top schools up to the age of eighteen and specialised in maths, science and computers, broadening her mind and taking up extra classes in her spare time. She studied Psychology for her finals only a year ago and it is this that qualified her to become a ninja in Lancaster. Her ability to read people and they're movements is quite phenomenal and she is rather successful when it comes to picking apart the human mind and making them conform.
Basically Kai had a comfortable but at the same time, harsh upbringing which made her into the sarcastic and determined individual she is today.
Additional Information: As mentioned before, Kai is skilled in Maths, science, computer and psychology.
(I am finishing it up, I just didn't want my computer to die and lose all of it :) I'm probably going to need help with the samurai as I don't know the fighting style so much.) done :)
Name: Natalie Valor
Gender: female
Mission Codename: Black Lightning
Age: 14
Profession: Samurai
Primary Weapon: Has two katana, but often uses one.
Elemental Affinity: Lightning
Description:
Natalie is rather short, only five feet in height, but is slender and her legs aren't as long in proportion to her torso as is the norm, giving her a low center of gravity. She has long pale-blonde (almost white) hair that she usually keeps tied back in a braid or down her back in curls. She has solemn green eyes that stick out from her tanned complexion.
For every day attire she usually wears a brightly-colored sundress if the weather is warm enough, though if it is not, she will usually try and put a long sleeved shirt on underneath and either leggings or jeans. Her favorite sundress is light-blue with a midnight-blue sash tied around the midsection and either wears sandals, flip-flops or boots on her feet (boots only when it is cold).
When she is training or battling, however, Natalie goes for a different look. She wears her hair tied back in a tight bun against her head, which pulls back some of the skin on her face and gives her a hawk-like appearance. She wears a tight black three-quarter-length sleeved shirt and lightweight black sweat pants. On her feet she wears black waterproof boots.
For formal events, Natalie exchanges both of these outfits in favor of a knee-length sea-green dress with high-heeled black shoes.
Personality: Natalie is a hard person to read. She is very reserved and typically isn't a very outgoing person on account of the fact that she hasn't had much social experience with many people outside of her sheltered family. She never really minds being alone, but enjoys the company of others even if she isn't skilled at social interactions. Even though she is often soft-spoken, Natalie is incredibly aware of her surroundings. She is constantly calculating different interactions between people, often taking mental notes. She would, however, rather be practicing her fighting skills than going to a party, as there is too much to process there. Natalie is brave and will put her life on the line to save someone, though she is a little rash and tends to allow her emotions get the best of her, something she hopes will be fixed at Lancaster so her concentration in battle will grow ever more acute.
Techniques: Shock Blade: Natalie can charge up any metal weapon (her katana) she has with a pulse of intense electricity, which is then released into the next person it comes in contact with. However, for days after using this, any metal object she touches shocks her. Not very much fun, actually.
Bolt Strike: She can direct an intense bolt of lightning at an enemy. This is rather draining, however, as Natalie hasn't found out how to gather much electricity from around her and does not have the assistance of much static electricity to feed into it or a conductor to direct it and hold it until it is strong enough and therefore has to have the electricity released all at once.
Flash: Uses a weak flash of electricity to blind the foe, sometimes shocking them as well. Can also be used at a smaller level to illuminate an area.
Recharge: She stands or sits in one area for a long period of time and slowly absorbs the electricity around her. She hasn't found out how to do this at a faster rate, so she typically does this before going on a mission and this does very little if she is moving, unless she happens to be shuffling down a hallway with fuzzy slippers on (:))
History: When a great family of Knights and another family of Witches and Wizards met, they were surprised to find that their first born (Natalie's older brother) was a Ranger. He found it out at a rather early age when one of his friends told him about the powers of Rangers which clearly matched his own. Because their family was not able to train a Ranger, her brother asked to be sent to a school to train, and Lancaster was the one closest to them at the time. They had a daughter next who was clearly a gifted Witch and she was trained by her mother. It was when Natalie was born, however, when the confusion arose. It was obvious she could harness the element of electricity to some extent, though her mother found that it wasn't through Essence she did so, and her energy wasn't Vitality or even Soul either. Her father, brother and mother all tried to train her in their specific field, but found that she didn't have energy compatible to their professions.
Her father, who was spectacular at swordplay yet had no Vitality of his own, often sparred with her and found that she was swift and quickly located all of his weak points while fighting and used them to her advantage and that she favored the lighter-weight katana over a heavy metal blade. He talked to his brother about it and he told him that her powers matched that of a Samurai, though the only one he knew was his mother-in-law who already had an apprentice. He tried to train her in fighting as best as he could, but couldn't do anything to help her develop her Aura.
Natalie found that, since she could not take up an apprenticeship, she was often times left to experiment with her powers and fighting skills on her own. She developed several ways of using her electricity, but knew she didn't know how to make her abilities stronger and she also didn't have a way to perfect her fighting skills properly. When she proposed she be sent to Lancaster like her brother was and they sent her there immediately, even though she would be rather young when she attended.
Additional Information: Natalie is also a swimmer, ice skater and reader. Most of these she did on the neighborhood pond while her sister was being trained by her mother and her brother was out... being a Ranger. She is also commonly found sparring with her father, though not with the same techniques and at a much faster rate.
Roleplaying Example:
I usually use one from PLF, but would you like me to post a different one?
so... jump from the trees and attack with an "ah-hah!" and then think back about how she was late, yadda yadda, and she just barely made it and no one had noticed her. heheh. not exactly, but...
yeah, I kind of already read all the posts (which I did for PLF and this didn't take nearly as long O.O) so I'm just going to do a little of what happened before and jump in, okay?
I couldn't really think of another good way for her to "jump in"... is this okay?
(It seems as though my characters have a way of making interesting entrances :P)
I just joined this RP today. I just got joined The PokeCommunity. I love roleplaying and such, and so I joined this RP.
I posted my SU in the role play thread. I hope I am approved, and I hope I am not tooo late, cause this seems like an awesome role play, its hard to find a role play that is still active on other forums.
In an act of courtesy and friendliness, could someone fill me in on what has happened so far in the role play so that I won't be lost
well theres only roughly a page of posts to read, so i unfortunately don't do recaps this early. I will leave this up to the other RP'ers though. You all see his signup in the main thread and you all know how many people are in here. PM me a vote response or respond in here with your thoughts on 1 more person...
signups WILL be officially closed after this so this stops happening. lol
Profession: Wizard
Primary Weapon: Walking Staff. It comes about 5' taller than he is, the end being a strange C-shaped pattern. Running down the middle of the cane for about 6" in the center is a thin amount of magic crystal that amplifies his attack power. It's a simple, wooden staff with cloth wrapped around the upper middle section for a handle.
Elemental Affinity: Ice and Lightning
Description: Nyam is about 5' 7" tall, weighing in at a flimsy 100. He has the physical appearance of a cat-human crossbreed, the result of a curse laid on him two years ago. Nyam wears around a pair of tattered jeans and an old, white T-shirt for comfort value rather than use, and always makes sure he's toting around his tall walking staff. He has brown fur covering his entire body, with a small black streak running from the base of his neck to the tip of his tale. His eyes are those of a cat, with yellow irises. They allow him to see in the dark, like a normal feline. He never had a very strong body, meaning that the only kind of activity that he was good at was running, letting him move faster than other people. As a cat, this carried over, and allowed him to move even better, regardless of his injured leg.
He has a strange set of half-paw half-hand things, leaving him with three paw-like fingers and two other digits that resemble thumbs. His paw-hands are pink-padded with white around the paws, leading the frequently trimmed claws. He doesn't typically wear anything other than a pair of plain sandals to keep his paw-like feet comfortable. A burn seared the middle of his chest a year back, and he's finally got fur growing back over it, and it's not as noticable as it was before, but it's still rather ugly-looking. The combination of his injured leg and terrible burn make it dificult to move, but he's managed to overcome a lot of this with his magic adaptations.
To avoid having people run in disgust at his appearance, he will sport a purple hooded sweatshirt on ocassion to cover up his face and hands. A black star is on the back of it, and it has a huge pocket in front. This is the only way he goes out in an unaccepting public, because otherwise it causes panic and mayhem to trail behind him wherever he goes.
Personality: Nyam is typically cautious about other magic-users, simply because of his past experiences with them. He sometimes hisses and spits at those he doesn't like, and he startles very easily. His emotions are very easily won over, but also very difficult to win back after breaking his trust. Nyam is mostly a happy person, and is rarely seen smiling unless the subject of his past is brought up, but he still tries to smile through it. His cat like smile can be very disarming, and it can also cause some people to seriously question his ability to fight.
Nyam is hopelessly caught in a midground of trust and utter hate. If you're a magic user, Nyam probably won't come within spitting distance of you. However, if you're any other kind of fighter out there, Nyam will instantly befriend and trust you. This can be a downfall of his, but his feline traits allow him to detect some of the more prominent feelings in others, and it allows him to catch people in the middle of a lie or when they're exerting some form of malice.
Nyam is practically insane when it comes to sweet things, but he doesn't go on crazy sugar rushes. His favorite food is an orange, and he always goes for the juice if its an option. Sweets are his weak point, and he'll often times befriend those who pop him a hard candy on ocassion. When he's really happy or someone scratches him behind the ears, he reacts as a cat does and purrs, moving his head towards the scratching.
During battles, Nyam becomes very fierce. He makes sure to brace his leg against something and charge up his magic. When he's fighting against someone, only hell breaking loose and wreaking chaos upon the very ground he stands on could actually stop him. He doesnt' fight to the death, but if his opponent gives up, Nyam will often times try and convince the other to continue fighting, instantly befriending whoever it is that he fights.
Techniques:
Prism Shield (C)
Nyam focuses his energies into three floating columns of ice that rotate around him, acting as shields. This attack requires a lot of attention, and as such, can leave him vulnerable if the opponent is too fast. The shields disintegrate once Nyam cancels the attack.
Electric Stimuli (C)
This move sends small electrical impulses to certain nerves and muscles in his body, stimulating them into better or sharper movement. He typically uses this consistantly during battle, but it can only work on one body part. He typically channels the energy into his right leg so that he can move properly.
Bolt Charge (B)
This move is actually one that transends the typical limitations put on is class. He shifts around on the ground that he occupies, trying to build up a mass of static electricity, amplifying it with his own powers. His muscles are stimulated, and he can get one good charge out of it. He dashes forward, or, in the case that his enemy is pinned down, simply strikes with his head or hand, discharging whatever energy he has stored. One chance, because once he hits the ground again, the energy typically disappates into the ground or the air.
Splitting Freeze (D)
Nyam charges up his ice element, and quickly discharges a small bit of it, releasing an invisible "Spear" of cold. It can freeze whatever it hits directly, or it can freeze quickly as it moves, becoming a flying icicle.
History: Nyam, Isaac at this time, grew up in a little town with a few houses, going to his normal school and living happily. Something always felt gone in his life, and he was always unnaturally distracted by snow and lightning storms. Isaac paid this no attention until his town was brutally attacked and burned. He fled to his house, hiding where he could. When they found him, he had gotten the short end of the stick. They had some form of magic-weilder on their side, and he held a hand to Isaac's stomach. He quickly sent an explosive wave of energy out, accompanied by a curse.
Isaac woke up two hours later, a quarter mile from the burning reckage of his town, encased in Ice. Isaac freaked out, and tried to squirm free. The ice disappated, and he was left in the field. When he went to wipe his tears away, he found out the effects of the curse. He stood up, and found that his leg had been severely injured, but not the bone. The nerves and muscles had been damaged, but it was still barely usable. He hobbled back to his town and rummaged through things, and found a staff and his cell phone, to wich he laughed. It was too convenient to not be planned.
He renamed himself Nyam and began to wander the country, eventually stumbling upon the Lancaster School of Battle after no more than three months. When he found teh school, he was immediately rushed and taken in by the school dean, and he set him up in his own dorm. Nyam is now intent at working on his newly acquired magic, content with just whittling the days away one hour at a time.
Additional Information: Nyam typically stays away from clubs, simply to avoid anyone looking at his face. However, he can be found on rooftops a lot, singing quietly. He's still wondering about joining the choir, but it seems kind of likely at this point.
Roleplaying Example: So lazy. Seriously. Lazy is oozing out of my ears at this point. So, I'm going to just stick my sample in spoiler tags.
Spoiler:
Gales flashed through the forest, tearing out trees from their well-placed roots, sending them flying through the forest, only to uproot other trees or to break in half against those that were sturdier. A boy managed to navigate the maze of flying trees, feet landing on shaky ground. He desperately clung to the branches that he could hold onto, leaves whipping past him every which way. A few twigs lodged themselves in his blond hair, whipping past his Brown jacket topping a yellow shirt. He wore a pair of brown jeans and a pair of yellow tennis shoes. Isaac twisted around and focused for a brief moment, and was enveloped by a white light. A moment later, he vanished, leaving only white wisps behind. A split second later, the youth appeared, crouched on a sideways moving tree. He leapt off, only to be enveloped in the same white light and disappear once more. He teleported to another flying tree, this one vertical in the air. He cursed under his breath as he teleported and narrowly avoided a flying tree branch. He appeared on the ground, only two meters from where he was. Isaac stumbled forward, and reached behind him. He wore a black fanny pack, which contained all of his traveling needs. He unzipped it and pulled out a spoon. It was his weapon, so to speak, as they helped him harness his psychic abilities.
A large tree flew towards him, leveling many of the smaller trees that stood in its way. Isaac quickly thrust the spoon in front of him, and searched for the abilities held deep in his mind. The tree was soon enveloped in a purple glow, a tendril of Isaac's abilities wrapping around the flora. He quickly moved his one hand away, and the hand behind his back to the left. The tree split in to and flew in opposite directions, allowing Isaac a clear path. It was harder to use Kinesis than Teleport, but it was good training. Isaac teleported around the next few trees, and soon found himself facing a rock formation. The rock was a white tone, pierced with small amounts of brown and black here and there, small glittering points showing themselves to the Kadabra. He rapped on the stone, searching with his mind. He found the inside to be hollow, a great place for them to stop. It must have been some kind of mine, and the glittering indicated magical stones. From the aura the cave gave off, it must have been an evolutionary stone mine.
The teen inched his way round the outside of teh formation, careful to avoid incoming foliage. Isaac rounded the corner and hastily ducked into the cave. He whipped his body around, and found himself in a cave near a lake front. Oddly convenient, one might say. It would have been the perfect spot to rest, had there not been gale force winds. A gyarados rampaged about in the middle of the lake, an expression of absolute joy taking its comfortable place on the pokemon's face. Isaac regained his breath and touched a hand to his ear.
"Alaia?" Isaac asked, taking another deep breath. "I think I found us a good place to stay. It's not very affected from the hurricane, and its an evolutionary stone mine. You know what that means. More thunderstones for you to draw power from."
It's not my best, but it's one of my more recent ones.
Also, I know how it says "No more SUs" on your RP thread, but I talked to you about this a little bit ago, and I recently got time to write it. I'm exhausted now, so I'm gonna go sleep. If you need any edits, I'll get around to it soon.
Er... that is just rude. Not in one way did I say that you sign-up was lesser than anyones. Just that it could get bit more in a subject. But, as far as your personality goes, my vote
is not for you.
