So the Unova games were missing one pretty major thing. A legitimate working airport! I'm aware that you got to fly up to the mountain in B2W2, but that was nothing near what we deserved. Would've you liked to see Mistralton as a legitimate airport and not just a cargo one? An international hub, like the boats and ships of the past where you battled rich trainers from other areas? Did you want to fly more? If so where? What things would've you liked to see (would've you even liked to fly to Unova in the original games???) Share your thoughts.

I honestly agree with you. They could have added so much to such a simple airport. I would have liked to see them add trainers you can battle on the plane, like on the S.S Anne. Make the plane go to more places during the after game. It would have been nice for the plane to take you to remote islands that contain legendary Pokemon you could catch. They cold have greatly fleshed out Airport mechanics, but missed their chance unfortunately.

Going to separate islands sounds good :) I'd think that it'd only be good for past generation legendaries though, since I'd hate if they changed where Unova's legendaries are! Also maybe you could travel to a seperate region, where the islands would actually be in. Like, flying over the top of a seperate land and looking down on Sinnoh etc in order to fly to the new land. Would be cool!

I think I made a thread in Gen IV about the Sevii Islands...they should have let you fly there!

And made it possible to see Rufflet and all 3 starters in all their forms in Black 2 so you can still fly to the shiny Haxorus no wi-fi is closed off.

I would have liked to see the airport in use, especially considering the Battle Subway was also teasing the idea of transport in Unova but obviously was just for battling haha :)

Rather than an external location, I'd have quite liked to see it used in a similar manner to the Magnet Train (where you see an animation but don't have to battle) but travel within Unova itself. Maybe from Mistralton to Undella Town as that would allow you to travel from west to east on the map very easily :) Or maybe even after beating the Elite Four once there could be a thing where Skyla comes to find you and is all like "Oh! We've got the airport up and running" and you'd be able to fly to the Pokémon League anytime you wanted after that :)

I was pretty disappointed with the airport's role in the games. There's access to technology that would allow us to travel to far away places, yet it was never used?! I know we flew in B2W2, but we never flew anywhere outside of Unova, and that was a bit sad. It would have been so awesome to fly to some islands (coughseviicough) and go exploring, or to visit another region to battle or something (coughbattlefrontiercough). Once I got off the plane in B2W2 I was like, "What? That's it? I only get to fly across a mountain?" I mean, it was cool, but Gamefreak really has to go all out next time 8)

That would have been awesome! I never really thought about that actually XD but I guess destroying some trainers on my daily business flight would be nice!

Well, if we want to get technical, airports had never existed in main series Pokémon games; if it weren't an actual thing for them, I suppose it's all right for them to not give it to us, as it's understandable. Though, if they did have an airport in fifth generation games, it certainly would have made things pretty interesting. In general, airports are usually quite large--they could even take up the entire space of a small town, which is a lot--so if they wanted, they could have had a Gym Leader (preferablly Skyla) host their gym here, as well as have some big events occur and whatnot.

All-all-all, it would have been pretty interesting to see how it'd all turn out.
