    Maybe this will get more views in Trade Corner, but I didn't have any luck with Charizard…

    I'm looking for someone to invite me to a Greninja raid so I can get it. I've finally started to get into this game I think, but I'm probably months off post-game (3 Gym, 2 Titans, 2 Star Bases and I started my save in November) and would like to get at least one of these early Mightiest Mark 'mon.

    I have over 200 in the Pokédex, and enough Exp Candy to probably get a desired 'mon up to the high 60s so could coordinate strategy. Heck, if you have a team-up you really need to do, could even give me a rental!

    I'm available UK time from 19:00 onwards - a little less before then dependent on work and home life - until approximately 02:00-03:00 each day. More on Sunday.
     
    I would also be willing to join in for this. I missed the charizard event but I was able to conquer the Cinderace after about 2-3 attempts. I think it would be easier if we could find a full team of 4 people. The hard part is finding someone who can still host this event.

    As for your current level.. you're gonna need to grind a lot. Find a spot where Chansey spawn and start laying waste. 7 Star raids are vs level 100 Pokémon. They are not easy. You will get knocked out in 1 hit each turn if you are not also level 100.

    Dang, thought was lv. 60 like Wild Area…what Pokémon would you recommend? (I'm thinking something with Night Shade because Greninja can't get 400 HP, right? Bulbapedia doesn't say anything about it failing, but there must be a reason all the people ranting on Reddit use set-up strategies instead)

    Tera Raid Pokémon have much higher HP than 400 and they can't be damaged so easily. The best Pokémon to use is Gastrodon. Greninja has a Poison Tera Type, and Gastrodon is part Ground-type, making it good against Poison. Gastrodon is also part Water-type with the Ability Storm Drain, which negates Greninja's Hydro Pump and boosts Special Attack, making Gastrodon hit harder. Gastrodon is also highly defensive and can learn moves to boost its defenses and Recover to last longer. Gastrodon will definitely be the Pokémon that I will be using.
     
    I second the Gastrodon as well. I am actually breeding one as I type this. Just got a perfect IV one and now I'm going to EV train it and grind it to lvl 100. I'll hopefully be able to challenge the 7 star raid soon. I have some 5 IV Shellos I can send you if you want to train one up

    I plan on EV training it tonight and then grinding. Maybe ready to go tomorrow evening.

    If you don't want to use Gastrodon, then Quagsire would also work. Slowbro COULD work if you wanna risk it.

    I rather not risk Slowbro being hit with Night Slash. Gastrodon is definitely my choice. Tomorrow evening sounds great. That gives me enough time to get prepared. As for Amore, please let us know if you need a Pokémon to do the Raid. Dave said he can send you some Shellos to trade and I can help too.

    Hey, yeah I definitely would want to take you guys up on the offer of a Pokémon. I just got my first Ditto, hardly in a position to IV breed! Got enough candy to take a lv. 22 Clodsire to lv. 78 only, but I'll do some of the raids in my game to grind a bit more tonight when I watch TV. I saw a couple of Chansey near the tunnels under Glaseado Mountain though, so might be able to lv. 100 one.

    Hate that other than that Pikachu, you have to beat the game and get lv. 100s to get the events…although at least the game's now been out 3 months. I could have beat it if I wanted.

    I'm up for about 3 hours, so I'll periodically check PC to see if one of you want to trade.

    I do have a lv.75 Lucario, but that's probably too fragile, right? Doesn't actually resist anything Greninja has since Steel got nerfed. Has Ice tera type, and I only could change it to Normal :(

    I will EV train your Shellos for you. I'll EV train yours as I do mine. I will trade it to you holding a XL candy. You should be able to grind levels quicker with a traded Pokémon. Give it the XL candy once you get it leveled high. Give me about an hour to get it done.

    As you wait, do as many raid dens as you can to get EXP candies

    Thanks! That's super generous.

    I'm UK time so - excluding levelling up time - I'll be available from around 6pm my time tomorrow to get this done.

    If it goes well and you guys want to make it regular if they keep doing these events, I'll bring my own for the next one :)
     
    Keep the Gastrodon when we are done. I won't need a second. You can easily search some videos on YouTube that show good Pokémon to use for raids. Your best bet is to finish the game and get access to your own higher dens for better rewards. And you can get the Lucky Egg to double EXP gained
     
    Ok so I've got Gastrodon up to lv. 93 already and I'm still raiding so I'm optimistic I'll be good to go. It was mentioned that Greninja skews towards Physical attacks, so I probably don't need to run Amnesia? Does one of yours have Clear Smog for wiping the Greninja's stat boosts, or should I get it?

    I'm thinking strategy-wise I should copy that one AI that always does the defence cheer first turn.
     
    I didn't mess around with my move pool at all. I just went in to see how tough it would be. Gastrodon tanked hits like a champ. Very little damage taken each hit and then I used recover when I got low. You shouldn't need Amnesia. Clear smog would be helpful! He double teams at the beginning

    Ok see how my day goes tomorrow. Level obvs the most important thing (and I'm close), but if I have time I'll get to the town that has the Mirror Herb and get it on there.

    Think you put that in the wrong thread? I think Slowbro may be the way to go. Greninja doesn't erase its own stat changes, so Chilling Water properly weakens it.

    Yeah, had a busier day than expected (had to do a lot of family chores that normally aren't my problem) so not at lv. 100 yet but I'm close! My usual sleeping pattern means I'll be available for the next 7-8 hours if anyone has that much stamina haha
     
    Sounds good. Took down a Greninja just now with a team of 2 Slowbros and 2 Gastrodons. It went really well. My Gastrodon never came close to fainting. I used recover once when my health was half. I put leftovers on it.
