Essentially being the only person with the ability to lie (and I assume, by extension, also the only person with the ability to detect lies) would give you ultimate power to rule the world. You could literally talk your way out of any situation whatsoever and talk yourself into any position of power or influence. That's not how I'd use the power though, I'd find ruling the world boring.

I'd use it to live my life free from others' obstruction. If one lie was all it took to make someone leave me alone, well it'd essentially act as a permanent get-out-of-jail-free card and I could do whatever I liked.

I still don't see how that at all follows. I mean, I could rob a bank and be caught on cctv, I could lie, but still be proven wrong by the footage. I'm pretty sure people go into prison saying they didn't do something when they did a lot of the time.

I suppose without looking too far into this, I'd essentially use this ability to, somewhat like ShiningRaichu said, use it in the future if I ever get into trouble. I don't think I'd be capable of doing something really bad. :x

I would exploit my ability to the fullest and get myself to a place where I'd like to be.

If it also means my lies would go undetected then I would use my ability to the fullest so I could live comfortably and I'd probably use it to benefit other people too.

I dunno if I'd feel like I'd need to lie. This word sounds kinda nice. No crooked politicians, televangelists, or lawyers. I wouldn't want to introduce the concept of falsehood to this innocent world.

I'd use it to work my way into a position of political absolutism.

We're not all bad! Well... that's probably not true, and I'm sure as hell not breaking the stereotype!

Anyhoo, I'd probably end up exploiting it just enough to live a comfortable life, but wouldn't go around creating a new fictitious identity or pretending I was a millionaire or anything. Just enough so that I'd be a lil' bit better off. Of course, I say that before this great power has corrupted me.

I would ask people some things they may have hid from me, but in general, I don't know how much I would use it. I would use it for things that wouldn't hurt anyone. Little things. "Does this dress look good on me?" "Of course!!!" "Really?" "Well...noo...."

Most likely, I'd use my lying ability to stay out of trouble (like breaking something). I could be found out later on, but I might continue to lie to cover it up.

Pretty much this, actually. This is of course assuming no one is able to detect lies other than myself, like Shining Raichu mentioned.

I'd definitely exploit the system to get ahead in life and to find out others' deep secrets to use against them. Because I'm evil like that :P Just as long as nobody else can detect my lies; then my whole cover gets blown :/

I'm definitely not above using my ability to lie to get ahead. And if nobody else can, all the more power to me :P
