Developer Dontnod Entertainment confirmed today in a YouTube update video that there will in fact be a second Life Is Strange game and that it has been in development for the past year.

There is no confirmation as of yet whether or not it will be a direct continuation from the events that transpired in the first game, but the developer stated they will be revealing more information in due time.

What do you guys think of this news? Did you like or hate the first Life is Strange? Would you like to see it be a continuation of the adventures of Max and Chloe or involve new characters? What additions or subtract ions would you like to see in this sequel? Feel free to talk all things Life Is Strange 1 & 2 here!

Given the unexpected success of the first one, I feel like it was bound to happen eventually. I liked the game even I wan't a fan of the last episode in particular. Max was a great character and her story feels complete as is. Plus, them continuing the story would mean choosing a canonical ending. I'd prefer a clean slate for the sequel.

I had mixed feelings about Life Is Strange, as I've shared before - I loved the concept and story, but the characters fell too flat and one-dimensional for me to actually like or care about any of them, which is a huge miss to me for a game that's so story- and dialogue-driven. And speaking of the dialogue, I found most of it too stilted and awkward, so that was another thing that prevented me from liking it more.

But like I said, I did genuinely find the story and concept of Max's powers really interesting, so despite some of my criticisms of the game, I would still definitely check out the sequel just to see the direction they take this in. If they continue with Max's story, I feel like there were a lot of loose ends that they can tie up, like where her powers came from in the first place and all that. But like thedestinedblade said, that might be hard to do considering how different the endings of the first game were, though with all the time travel shenanigans in the story, it wouldn't be too hard to pull a Walking Dead and find a way to set both paths on the same story again.
