3rd Gen Linking for Mystery Event

    Ok, so I'm dumb, or something, so can someone enlighten me?

    I've filled the pokemon questionaire in at a pokemart, and the mystery event is enabled, but when I come to select the event I want, I have no friends listed, and my wireless communicatoins get stuck whilst searching for others to link up

    I do have two GBA's, and both versions of the game, and can use the union room to chat, trade and battle with myself ( yeah, yeah yeah, I know it's sad, but it's not as if I've got much choice). In theory I should be able to link up for mystery event and can't so what is missing?

    Oh, and what are these E-card readers I've been hearing about? where do I get one, and where do i get the cards from?

    I think it's how you get the aura tiket...but I don't think it works on the PAL version....coz I tried it with my friend and the same happend

    Yes, as far as I know, this is true. The mystery event in FR/LG links with a certian device that they place at Nintendo Events, and you can download data into your game. I am not completely sure how they work which items are obtained when, but the stuff you can download includes the two tickets, and the pokemon change in the Altering Cave.

    I know this is how to get to islands eight and nine, which is why I wanted to activate it. Otherwise, I'm going to have to resort to some form of cheat codes to get there. I've got an Xploder cheat cartridge that's been preprogrammed with some R/ S codes, but nothing for FR/LG, so if I can't get to Eight and Nine Islands legit, I'm going to have to chase down the correct codes. I'd rather not have to do that, though.
