one question, can you use two types even though one is your type?

Recent Happenings

Had a slow run through Viridian Forest, level grinding Squirtle to 14.
Beat Brock. He was easy as with Lv15 Squirtle OHKOing both with Water Gun.
Got the Magikarp off the man. Halfway through Mt. Moon, doing more level grinding.

To Joey the Cockroach: Okay, you may have psychic and yes, multi-type, duel type, whatever you want to call it IS allowed. This would be so much more lame without it.
 
Updated Recent Happenings

Got through Mt. Moon. The Rocket with the Raticate beat me once due to Hyper Fang CHing.
Sold/deposited unnecessary toss in the Pokemart/PC. Saved right before PINGAS, my rival.(Is called DT157 btw)

Starter Pokemon: Charmander

Progress
- Went through Viridian Forest
- Beat Brock pretty easily after power leveling Charmander, which evolved into a Charmeleon in the process.
- Went through Mt. Moon, power leveling Charmeleon.
- Beat rival on Nugget Bridge with Charmeleon.
- Tried and tried beating Misty, and training Charmeleon, but even at level 28, he still couldn't beat that Starmie. So, with permission, I caught a Bellsprout, trained it to level 22 (evolved into Weepinbell), beat Misty, and released Weepinbell.

I need to update the rules. No gamesharks are allowed but you can use the glitches in the game like the Mew one. I'll add that so everyone can see.

L'Viaquez, I think you're in the lead so far (Even though it isn't a race, of course). Keep up the good work everyone!

- Trained Pidgey and Spearow
- Caught a Caterpie with the intent of evolving it into a Butterfree, which is part Flying

I'd like to have Ground if i can. Now they don't have to start as ground types do they (ie I can catch a Nidoran for Nidoking/Nidoqueen)
 
Well, here goes.

1 hour into the game

Gary's battle was the hardest so far
Brocks battle lasted 14 seconds.
 
To Angelic Diablo: Okay, ground is yours. Yes, you may capture pokemon if they eventually evolve into your type.
To runner12326: Okay, I'll add you.

Day 2
-Prowled through the Viridian Woods and wasn't thrilled by the number of trainers there. My pokemon didn't get up to the level that I wanted yet I didn't have the patience to battle a million wild pokemon.
-Defeated Brock and it was actually harder than it looked. Bulbasaur didn't know any grass moves and nidoran didn't know double. But I still beat him with a combination of leech seed and growl.
-I ended my game at the next route.

i have went through tough battles and even Gary nearly beat my Ivysaur. but i have a good new team now.

my Abra evolving image.... what happened to it?

got a new one to the team... Drowzee

currently now at SS Anne with a good team!

edit: yes i did have 2 abras and they have evolved..... never really took notice of the psychic type and this is fantastic! now i need a good rod to try and catch slowpoke.

another edit: woops i forgot to put in the moves they have.

Kadabra 22 - Bide, Teleport, Disable, Confusion
Kadabra 17 - Teleport, Confusion

woo, have fun. ^^ I'm playing it on my gamecube (the gba player) since I accidently stepped on my gba and broke it. It has a huge crack in the screen. :( I may get out my gbc and play on it a little.
 
So far:
Beaten Brock, thanks to my bulbasaur's vine whip. Afterwards, Bulbasaur evolved after a few trainer battles. Halfway to mount moon. Hopefully there's some rock pokemon there.
